Enmission control exhaust rebreather rerouted to tail section of bike.
still need exhaust conversion and carb rejet, but the bike is coming along nicely.
Buells are supposed to have a reduced effort front brake , and the rear is supposed to need extra effort to get maximum stopping power (to avoid lockups). But you can stoppie this little bike w/o problems.
The bike is small enough, and has a short enough wheelbase that it can dart around through backroads and curves like nobody's business. They are meant to be 'streetfighters'.
Not the best bike in the world, but don't go out of your way to avoid them either.
Pirelli tires, rejetted carb, replaced top end gaskets (a must for this bike), after market exhaust will enhance performance tremendously,
not to fast at all, great through curves though, can turn on a dime, desperately needs performance improvements, easily rejetted (recommended)
good braking nothing special here though
great handling, easy for anyone to ride
Perfect starter bike, with small modifications the bike would make a great commuter
Vance and Hines Race Pipe, bar end mirrors.
Needs to warm up - idle for 2-5 minutes before riding to avoid sputtering and loss of power. Keep in mind that it is 483cc and a single cylinder!
Not comparable to a true sport bike, but more than adequate for the size of the bike. Rear brakes very nice, front brakes a little grabby when new.
Great - can throw it around like a rag doll!!! Very light weight and responsive, with an extremely low center of gravity.
I have been riding for 25+ years and absolutely loved this bike as a daily commuter. The race pipe added a lot of UMPH! and a great low rumble sound. I would say NOT a bike for the performance geared crowd. But as a first bike, or fun "get around town" vehicle without the price tag, you can't go wrong. Positives: great gas mileage, very low maintenance, price. Draw Backs: Very bad resale. Would I Buy Another? Yes, it is a Blast!
List any modifications on this bike
Weak.......I MEAN WEAK!!!!
Slides around. Feels imbalanced.
Unpredictable. Hard to get in gear. Stalls alot.
This bike sucks. Hard to believe it's owned by Harley.
