No noticable flat spots since jetted and pipe put on. Bike really screams from 8-14,000 RPMs.
Brakes are excellent. Lots of braking power
This is the bike is the most fun. Handles alittle heavy at slow speed, but very flickable at higher speeds. Very easy to change your line in a turn. Bike has a "point and go" feel to it.
Overall, this is a great bike. The power is smooooooth and the quality of the bike is great. It feels solid, and built well. They controls and seat are racey, but not too racey. They remain comfortable on long runs. This bike is great for street riding.
List the modifications on this bike D&D Slip on, Chromed rims, rear sets, pegs, triple tree, shaved side fairings w/ high speed flushes, euro style undertail, personal graphics and a lot more $$$ than worth mentioning.
any flat spots etc. *Not really into power yet, but to me, i think this bike can use a little more "ooomph" if you know what i mean when you get out of freeway entrances...acceleration can be a little more "juicy".
Feel, Strength Braking felt really solid and still does...besides the acceleration factor, this bike is really fun to take on those "clover" exits off the freeway, or freeway u-turns.
handles very nicely, but than again, i've only ridden my friends GSXR 750 ( '00) & 1000 ( '01) , R1 (both '00 & 01), R6 ( '00) and '01 Hayabusa on regular street, not on freeways yet nor taken these bikes on curvy roads to find out their handling on turns and deep leans.
this is an all-around very good bike if you are getting into the sport....i'm new to the sport of streetbikes, but have been racing all my life, i.e. bmx, 12 speeds, mountain bikes, etc. and found that this bike is a good all-around bike to both ride and learn on....but i wish that they could have made the seat a lot softer, hurts your ass after about an hour of riding....Honda are you listening?...this is what i'm looking for when i look to buy the new 1000RR in 2002......"Lean like you need a sponsor"....TP
Lots of modifications have been done on this bike.i used it as a race bike for one year.piped,jetted,520 conversion, cindered brakes, race rubber.
smooth power. top end needs some help...plenty fast but had a hard time mantaining the speed in the wind. took a little longer than most bikes to get tuned in right.
good brakes for it's time. not very stable in very hard braking situations.had to put a fox in rear and race tech up front.before it settled in.
was adverage handling stock. had a real heavy feeling at slower speeds.felt good at higher speeds handled awsome after the suspention was changed.
perfect beginner bike.nimble & light enough and still a pretty good handfull for most riders and will take awhile for most riders to take it to it's full limit. i still have this bike i changed a few things and use it for tricks and stuff.that way if i throw it down. it's not a big deal.as far as the bike goes that is.
List the modifications on this bike - None yet. I have a set of H-7 70W bulbs, rainbow blue and xenon white, that I'm going to put on soon.
When looking for a parking space at the Quik-E-Mart, you've got to go easy in 1st gear, otherwise it's a little jerky. 2nd is smoother but you start going too quick for a parking lot with people walking around. But when launching from a red light of doing 1st gear wheelies, the bike is smooth as hell, right up to redline on every gear. I've never noticed any bumps or flat spots in the rev band.
Front brakes rule on this bike; rear stoppers don't do dick, but I don't really use them anyway. Stoppies are easy as anything, but the asphalt has to be suitable, otherwise you'll do scary skids.
Excellent, excellent, excellent. The bike bails you out every time you screw up. I don't have the skill to scrape my muffler on the deck yet, but the bike can still be leaned over on its head, especially on left handers where the exhaust can isn't a factor.
I'm a newbie pretty much (16k miles on a Ninja 250 and less than 2 years experience), but still think this bike is the absolute freakin' bomb. If you're climbing your way up towards liter bikes, this is the best way to go, fellaz. Honda's engineers have refined the hell out of this bike, which is why its reputation is what it is - the easiest bike to get on and ride fast. Comfort is going to depend on your height, inseam and arm length. I'm 6'1, with long legs and arms, and the bike fits me fine. My wrists hurt like hell the first 500 miles or so, but now I never notice them. I never get back or neck pains either, but all that flies out the window the longer you stay on the bike. It is a race rep, after all. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the seat is too hard; it seems OK to me, but again only on short trips, mind. If you're going somewhere that's 2 hours up and 2 hours back, I guarantee when you finally make it back home you'll be saying, "Get me off this freakin' bike!" The F4i is all about top end. The exhaust note is all goody two shoes quiet when you're pulling out, but when you start hitting 11, 12, 13k revs, the fucker wails beautifully. I'm keeping my stock system for now. Honda and their Ph.D boffins spent zillions figuring out which exhaust would work on this particular bike. Who am I to second guess them? Wheelies. 1st gear, no problem. Pile on some revs, dump the clutch and she's skyward in a nanosecond. Major dope! There's another variation you can do, where you can launch one at a 30 degree angle, which is cool. The only problem is when you're on the road and in 2nd gear, she'll only come up about a foot or so, even if you redline the bitch and then dump the clutch. Zero. Zilch. Nada. But by that time you're hitting 50, 60 mph and it's time to shift again. Some of the homeboyz I ride with say you've got to stand on the pegs and give the handlebars a good tug, like you can do with R6's. But I'm still learning. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Anyway, for those short on experience or not looking for a more track focussed machine, the Honda is where it's at. It's stupid fast, comfortable (on short trips), does killer 1st gear wheelies, stoppies, and handles great. Beautiful bike, yo.
List the modifications on this bike Two Brothers C5 X-Metal slip on short stalk rear turn signals (LP, I believe)
any flat spots etc. Awesome mid range... Carburetion is as good or better than any other bike that I know of. By 8,000 RPMs you better hold on tight!!! The top end of this bike is awesome too!!
Feel, Strength this is my first bike (so I have nothing to compare to) I can say that they haven't decreased in feel or strength since I have owned it. The braking is awesome!!!!
It took me a long time to build up confidence to corner fast, this being my first bike. All that I can say is that I have read that this is one of the easiest bikes to ride fast and I agree. I do occasionally corner pretty fast and I don't feel like I am upsetting anything. I am completely satisfied with the handling!!
The aftermarket pipe on my 99 F4 brought what seemed like a whole new bike. The powerband felt so much stronger throughout. I would recommend a Two Bros pipe to any one that wants better sound from their bike. (It is way too quiet stock) Just an awesome bike all around. The only reason I wouldn't get another one is because I like the looks of one of its enemies better. (The R6)
Bone Stock
Most powerful CBR yet. HRC finally used some of the race technology in the street model
braking is tight, and very responsive
handles amazing, wants to lay down around turns and powers out nicely.
This bike is a wheelie machine. The most horsepower Honda and put into a 600 so far. It is light as hell and moves!
List the modifications on this bike No mods yet. New Corbin saddle on it's way

Feel, Strength My first sport bike, best brakes I've ever had
Again my first sport bike, Michelin pilot's stick like glue I live in N. Calif Highway #1 nothing but twisties. I can flick this bike like I never thought I could.
yosimiour pipe, stage 2 jet kit, tinted wind screen.
has alright bottom end but great top end for a 600, the jet kit helped out a lot
al right for stock
feels lighter the faster you go through the bends
good beginners bike
Jardine Slip-on pipe, re-mapped EFI
Smooth, strong power delivery...really screams from about 8000 up...jardine exhaust sounds great and flattens out the midrange a little
Strong stopping power...a little fade after hard riding
Point-and-shoot...very lighweight but not jumpy like a R6
Super user friendly and the best 600 for the street
New tires, RK gold X-ring chain, no mirrors, other than regular maintenence it is all stock (oh and did I mention that Cycle Shack North sold and installed spark plugs for an F4 into this bike) check out the mileage that's not a typo
no flat spots that's because it's fuel injected but there is considerably more power after 8000 rpms. the bike took a while to break-in to receive full power. (yes i know the break in period is suppose to be 1000 miles but the power increases after about 5000 miles)
braking feels the same as my 2 previous bikes, both of them being honda cbr's (one being an f3 and the other being an F4) although the F3 had aftermarket brake systems
this is the whole reason that i still ride a 600, i've been riding for 6 yrs and the honda cbr 600 has always out performed the rest in the turns.
I feel that the true test of a rider is how well he/she rides in the turns and the handling of my new F4i helps me keep up if not outrun my buddies on their 750s, 900s, and above. The only bike that really gives me a good run for my money is an R1. Still mostly stock and I have been able to pull the bike up in 3rd gear w/ the clutch and 2nd gear off throttle alone. I've ridden with the las vegas extremes, and now I ride with the Hooligans in Conroe, Tx. The only problem I've found is the buzzing sound coming from the top of the motor that no honda dealer or honda tech can explain or fix. To those of you who own one of these bikes, if it doesn't buzz now, it will, and it will only get worse. To American Honda figure out what this noise is, and do something about it already.
MY bike has yosh headers and a Stock F4 crome pipe the tires are dunlop 207's I have done a blue paintjob to the bodywork It has a K and N Filter and stage 1 jetting i will soon be adding a power commander and ignition advancer
The carberation is spot on the power is awesome for a 1995 I have anouther pipe for it, a no name brand that is comparable to a D&D or Erion racing in sound and it adds midrange and top end the bike has the perfect rush for me right now
The brakes are great they are very very responsive
The handling is perfect for me it has never failed to carve the corners that i have taken it through this is my first bike, i have ridden many others including gsxr's zx's and yzf's and this one just stuck out
The bike is the best beginner bike that i could have gotten power braking handling and suspenion are awesome,, Pretty much all the guys i ride with started on F3's and plenty recommend them. Again i have ridden other and i have to say that this one with the streetable riding position and all has to be my favorite out of the 600's to start on.
No modifications
Do not feel any flat spots. You can feel the power increase once you get to about 6000 rpm's.
I have not felt any problems thus far.
I don't push to the limits yet, but it's felt very predictable going through sharp turns.
I am happy with this bike, but if i had to complain about something it would be lack of leg room. I would not want to ride for more than 4 hours.

The power is there off the line ,Hey 0to60 in a little over 2.3 seconds isnt bad.I love having the digital fuel injection, you can notice the differance....don't let those other boys tell you different.
Brakes grab like you tell em too!The bike doesn"t slide out on you in turns when braking hard.
Handles better on the left side over the right.Stays steady and upright on a wheelie.
My bike is the Bomb! With a Two brothers Carbon Fiber Exhaust that really enhances the sound and the horse power a little too!It makes those R1's heads turn and wonder what's under the hood. The bike's power is quick on the throttle ,But it would be nice to have a little more umph through second just to let the competetor's know they better get on it!I'm 5'3" and 145 lbs and trust me she moves like I'm not even there, the seat height is a little iffy,I've gotta keep one leg up and one leg down to hold her But ......She doesn't complain, any suggestions?I put street legal ice bulbs in,they're blue and she's black, silver, white and red,mix all that up with the sound and looks and you can call it alphabet soup! And hey...what kid doesn't like alphabet soup!? Hey on e question though..........Why isn't there a K&N air filter made for it yet no one makes them, huh cmon tell me ....when is it coming and what else can I do to her to make her move like she likes too?

any flat spots etc. Power is great. Whenever I ask it to go it goes. I am not exprienced, but this is a pretty fast bike.
Feel, Strength Braking is fine to me. I have not been jerked or skidded.
Like I said I am an in-experience driver. I have gotten her up to 120mph and handled her well. Handles well for me, I do have a death wish and she will not give it to me. Whatever i decide on, rather last minute or not she will do it.
This is my first bike. Love everything about it, but the comfort of the seat. I am not experienced enough to take corners tight and do wheelies, but I have made her scream and taken it some crazy places. I feel it was a good bike to learn on. This bike was the first bike I have ever driven and I loved it. I am looking to move to the 954RR this season. Hopefully a little more comfort there.

Carb? 3d Dig-EFI very precise and crisp. Cold starts are a dream. Instant throttle response, the only down side is the suddden deceleration when your readjusting your hand on the throttle and it slips closed(I have carpol-tunnel).
Great brakes, bite hard if you need them with great feel for how hard your stopping, no surprises.
Wonderful so far, I commute and have very few nice(read fun) turns on my 75 mile one-way trip to work, but the in town stuff has been just as silky as my cruise on the HWY. Almost too easy to point and go even in tight spots, without any kind of tight corner binding.
I love this bike. I have 5 yrs on an Aprilia RS125(175) while i lived in Sicily where everything was a corner and any comparison would be difficult. Both are critch rockets, that is where it ends. The CBR handling is remicent for me of my "Weed-whacker" as my friends called it. But even with more weight i like the CBR's brakes better and have more stopping control. Granted my RS was Race ready, only thing on it was a tach and headlamp and license plate. Having been diagnosed with carpol-tunnel and having had surgery on my right hand the buzz does get to me at certain times on my long commute, but hey she's spinning so..... All in all I see many many miles ahead of Pure Pleasure.

This is a POWER ON DEMAND bike, you tell it to go, and MAN does it GO! I'm a previous owner of an R1, and this bike is just as fast if not faster. Read below where it beats the R1.
Brakes are great, front breaks always work when you need them, back breaks are great too, hardly use them though.
This is where this bike shines. I've never had the handling I wanted with my R1. The 2001 Honda CBR4 F4i has the best handling of any bike if rode between Ninja's, R1's, and GSX-R's. Honda upgraded bikes could possibly be better, but never tried em.
Great fun bike, excelent and safe to learn on(as long as you ride it PROPERLY) and great for veteran riders also. The power is in this bike. Man its fast.
no mods yet, only had the bike for 2 days, planning on k&n filter, dynojet pcIIIr, and erion racing slip on (i've been told the stock headers are titanium???)
still in the brake in period, had it up to 8000 yesterday, as a first bike for someone, or even for an experienced rider, this thing hauls ass!!!
front brakes are strong as hell, nissin calipers are a perfect mate for the cross drilled discs...rear brakes...i think honda forgot them
corners perfect, easy to handle, slaloms easily on public roads or freeways
some say the seat is too hard and their wrists hurt, i've ridden it for over 12 hours in the past 2 days and i'm sound as a pound...where gloves the grips are slick, safe riding---"lean like you need a sponsor"
List the modifications on this bike Power commander, KN filter.
Throttle response sluggish in low RPM's but the power commander has helped. Throttle response is much better.
Braking is good. Feel is getting better as the brakes wear in.
Handling is excellent. It would be very difficult to lose it. You would have to really screw up to dump it.
Great all around bike. No other bike can compare to the combination of comfort, handling, and speed. The seat is a little hard though.
Two Brothers C2 Aluminum Slip on. Undertail and cut off the fender($30 and a dremel).
Sweet and strong, the comment about more power after 5000 miles is true. Any sluggish response by the throttle is gear error by the operator.
Still excellent and responsive.
Umm, lean and lean some more. I used to worry about the stock can, the TB C2 is skinny, with that i have dragged a peg once or twice(gotta keep the hwy flat spot in the center of my tire in check ya know)
I still commute 75 miles one way to work, i have carpol tunnel and have had very few problems with my wrist on the daily haul. I have fallen asleep once on it at 80mph(not recommended), but it is that comforatble to me. I have also been Drag racing it and she screems there too, but i am 6ft and 200lbs, the 140lb kids will forever spank me on it, but i ride for gas mileage during the week and for corners on the weekends, so who cares? "You only live once, die happy"
D and D slip on exhaust, competition werkes fender eliminator kit
very smooth fuel injection. takes a little time to jump up in low rpms but once u hit the mid range it flys. very quick bike on highway. accelerates smooth thru corners and coming out of red lights and stops.
front brakes excellent. quick stops if needed. rear end locks up a bit if ur hammering on the brake before a turn. do not brake thru a turn with this bike it'll slide out (dont brake thru a turn with any bike in that case).
corners incredible, pops wheelies so high and so far, gets u thru the worst of traffic situations. i feel very safe on this bike.
seat very uncomfortable on longer rides. very fast motorcycle and good looking. outruns the 5-0 on and off the highway (not that i know from experience or anything..hehe) excellent bike to own. runs like a dream. fuel injection rocks. way to go honda.
No reall mod's done yet, only euro tail section and flush mount blinkers front and back which make the bike look ten times better than stock.
The most powerful 600 I have ever ridden and I have ridden the F4i, R6, ZX6R and it dominates all of them. The engine is a little jumpy at low RPM's but from 8,000 up its very peppy.
Brakes feel strong and precise, However I feel that I have to pull fairly strongly on the lever to really slow myself down quickly. They have always been consistent though
Awesome, this bike turns any back roads into a racetrack. Handles very well in the leans, very stable which allows for high speed entry and exiting. Around town I would however have to say that other bikes fair better, but since I like the back roads better than town riding, it doesn't bother me.
I was very happy with all the little extras Suzuki has done with their bikes like the steering dampiner and rear seat cowl, which all other company's still haven't added to their bikes. The Suzki also has the most comfortable seat of any bike I have ridden. I have done 8 hours straight exept for gas stops on my Suzuki, something which I would not want to do on my friends R1, R6 or F4i.

Yoshimura TRS Slip-on Power Commander
Excellent power, especially smooth around 5000+. Yoshi pipe really felt when going full throttle throughout all the gears - gets you to 150mph seemingly quicker. Power commander helps w/ low and mid end throttle response. If curious whether an added slip-on will increase your top speed, the answer is marginally if at all. Top speed w/o is 161mph, w/ pipe and PCIII is 162mph.
Braking feels a bit shallow up front - although they get me stopped.
Super light and easy to maneuver - especially at slow speeds. Leans into turns without any difficuly, no matter what speed - but the foot pegs always seem to drag when leaning heavily into turns. Easy to wheelie - even on a full tank of gas. Bike has never given me any indication of not being stable - regardless of speed, condition, or whatever.
At first when I got the bike, it didn't feel like it had the power I wanted - such as a 1 liter bike. However the more i rode it, especially around 2-3K miles, the bike grew on me and has only gotten better. I am now really comfortable where hte power bands are, and that's the key to enjoying the ride more. Now I have no thoughts about getting a 1000 - the F4i will ride hard, corner hard, and stunt well.
yoshimura rs3 slip on, k&n air filter, carcon fiber turn signals(front and rear) an i took a hacksaw to that damn rear license plate holder
fuel injection has a small "glitch" when accelerating through a turn, but when the bike hits 6ooo rpms, this bike comes to life. cold starts are awsome. power is definately there
brakes are awsome, smooth stopping power
bike handles great, no stearing damper needed, this bike was designed to hug the ground in a turn
black and yellow paint scheme make this bike stand out from a distance, definate eye catcher.this bike was made to keep up with the big boys. this bike looks great and it kicks ass!

Good power throughout the rpm range (although I can't compare to other bikes in this class as this is the first 600cc sportbike I've ridden). Certainly enough power to poke around town in the lower rpm range, with enough pick-up and accelerate quickly when needed without needing to click down two gears. Engine pick-up does seem a tad rough off idle, but it isn't really a problem.
Good feel, though I haven't had a chance to test fade resistance.
Very stable and easy to ride. No nervousness to the steering and doesn't exhibit any bad manners. Lightweight lends to a fairly flickable feel too.
Very easy bike to ride. Pseudo-first bike for me (although I have over 3000 miles experience). Little hesitant while making the decision to jump onto a 600cc sportbike with such little experience (previous ride, was a borrowed Suzuki GS500), but it's relatively forgiving for a sportbike and is well mannered. Also the most comfortable sportbike that I've sat on (versus the R6 and GSXR, didn't hop onto a ZX6R) -- it's more upright. Not sure I would recommend it for someone with absolutely NO riding experience as the power can get you into trouble very very quickly. The problem will become obvious the second a cage decides to do something requiring you to take evasive action. Don't want to make an oopsie with nearly 100 hp in your right wrist! Overall, great, fun bike. Only 400 miles so far. I'll follow up with an update in a few months.
Custom Paint, K&N Filter, Stage 1 jets,Yosh slip-on, flush-mount turn signals, fender cut off, polished wheels...I think that's it.
Good power for a 600 with high miles. Smooth power delivery from 3000-redline. Perfect for street riding, but I would like a little more grunt from 5000-7000rpm.
Smooth, predictable braking with liitle fade. Only noticed fading on track days, but not too much. Would have liked more brake lever pressure, but that is personal preference
Stock suspension is great for the street and at least safe for track use, but a little on the soft side, even with my 150lbs on it. You really need to tinker with the settings to find your setup.
I loved my F2, I wish I could have it back, because it was the best bike for everyday riding. It will keep up with the new 600's through most conditions. It makes you feel very confident when you're in the saddle, and I think I can ride faster on the F2 than I can on my 98 GSXR because the bike behaves so well. One of the best...wait, the absolute best way to start off in sport bikes is the F2.
My bike has been built for pure speed junkies! It has been ported/polished, bored to 660cc, jetted, full Muzzy Exhaust, K&N filter, polished wheel lips, custom LED conversion tail section, and 14/45 lightweight sprockets.
Due to my high jetting, I have a small blip almost at the end of 2nd gear. Other than that, wheelies are nothing in 1st,2nd,or 3rd gear not using clutch of course! That would be a little hard for a stocker to do though. I only complain about its heavier weight as apposed to a newer 600, but its still reasonable light.
The brakes are excellent! I hardly ever have any fade when riding hard through twisty roads. Rear brakes are a little touchy at times, but who really uses the rear brake when heading into a hairpin turn at over 100mph?
The bike has stock suspension, I keep my settings on the harder side up front and keep the rear at a little past halfway. My next project is to shed about 10 pounds off the bike.
As I said before this bike is built for speed junkies! I ran it at my local drag strip, it ran a ball-shrinking 6.294 @ 102 mph in the 1/8 mile! Those boys with the turbo 900's, bring it on! I still haven't topped this bike out yet, so far I have reached 187 mph and I still had about 3,000 more to go on the tach! This thing is unbelievably fast! Its definatly a sleeper.........hmmmmm!
Stock. Tried Corbin seat and did not like it.
Just in last 100 miles or so, slight stumble at low RPMs. Otherwise has always lugged from even down at 2000 RPM. Really goes at 7000 or higher. I never use 6th gear -- it sounds a little different than the others and is unnecessary.
Good brakes, have locked the back while going slow into stops. Use the front.
Best handling bike by far that I've ever ridden (then again my last ride was a Seca II and the only other sport bike test ride I have had was a VFR). Stable and quick turning both. I dropped it in a cul-de-sac while going about 3 mph so beware on very slow sharp turns as it will just fall over.
The bike is quick and a lot of fun and is actually very comfortable. I sometimes ride with guys on Daytonas, R-1s, and the like and they all suffer more than I do and just can't put the same hours in without pain. Even my old Carpal Tunnel Syndrome seems to have gone away (unlike with the Seca where it just got worse). The F4 is just a good fun do-it-all (and at high speeds) kind of bike.
HotBodies undertail w/brake light integrater, Zero Gravity Double Bubble windscreen, Power Commander IIIr, Two Brothers carbon fiber slip-on, short stalk front turn signals, K&N air filter, custom decals including HRC Woodies
Great power stock, but incredible after mods including slip-on, air filter, and power commander
Above average but well below the awesome stopping power of the GSXRs
Light, nimble, real easy to muscle around and throw into the turns. A real confidence booster.
The only downside to this bike is that it gives off crazy heat especially when the radiator fan is on. Besides that, this is pretty much the best 600 out there (I have not ridden the new 600rr or the fuel-injected R6).
Yoshimura RS-1 Slip-on, K&N PCIII Power Commander, Corbin Seat, Lockhart Phillips Smoke Windscreen, Tank Bra, and Flushmount Turnsignals, Loobman Chain Oiler
There is some surging and flatspots in the power curve even with the power commander installed. I recommend having a custom map made for the bike if you have an exhaust pipe and power commander installed.
I think the braking is fine for the bike, but I dont have much to compare it to. I have ridden a few other bikes but not for a substantial amount of time to evaluate the difference.
This bike is very manueverable even for a beginner.
It is very user friendly. This is the first bike I have owned and I love it. For a beginner I think this is probably the best bike to get because of the comfort as a daily commuter. The R6 has you stretched out and really leans you over. I have over 30K miles on it and it is still running strong. I think there could be a little more power for an advanced rider but then there is always the new CBR600RR or a bigger bike. My next choice is either the RCV211 or 954RR.

For a beginner I think this is probably the best bike to get because of the comfort as a daily commuter and the maneuverability. The R6 has you stretched out and really leans you over. Not much really...K&N filter and a Kerker 4-1 pipe. Its my second bike and I'm really not sure what else to do with it. It runs super as it is right now.
Only thing that concerns me is some stiff shifting around 5 and 6 gears. Not sure what to look for. Any suggestions?
Brakes are super sensitive, stop on a dime.
Handles like a 2003. Very nice bike to tear around town. Not too shabby on the highway either.
I like it ....I like it a lot! LOL
Micron High Mount Slip-On 15 tooth sprocket
No noticeable flat spots in the acceleration. Need to work with the clutch a bit to do wheelies. Not enough power there. Decent power increase from 5000 - 9000 rpm.
No problem with stoppies. Rear brake is a bit touchy, but then most bikes are.
Excellent!! The F4i can handle just about any curves you throw at it. Confidence inspiring.
Great for canyon carving and short distance riding, but VERY uncomfortable or any distance over 20 miles. The factory seat might as well be made of wood.
Corbin seat, K&N air filter, DB windscreen, rear hugger, etc...
Good power once the revs pick up, a little doggy off the line in 1st. Begins to scream at 9000 through to redline.
Brakes are great. No complaints.
The handling is awesome. Neutral for beginners, but can be ridden aggressively just as easily. Better feel than the '00 R6.
Great entry level sportbike that you won't soon grow tired of. I've topped mine out at 162mph and its still solid at those speeds. Overall great motorcycle. Highly recommended although I can't wait to upgrade to a 900+.
THE BIKE HAS A D&D SLIP ON WITH MANY EXTRAS WHEN IT COMES TO LOOKS.
AS COMPARED TO OTHER BIKES I HAVE BEEN ON IN THE PAST, THE BIKE IS VERY RESPONSIVE AT BOTH SLOW AND FAST SPEEDS.
FOR THE COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE HAD TO BRAKE FAST BOTH STRAIGH AND ON A TURN, THE BIKE HAS BEEN THERE FOR ME..HAHA *KNOCK ON WOOD*
AT ALL SPEEDS THE CBR SEEMS TO HANDLE VERY SMOOTHLY AND IS VERY RESPONSIVE.
GREAT BIKE TO LEARN ON!
erion full race pipe, erion cam, port & polish, 2 down in front, 1 up in rear, complete engine overhaul
power is excellent, dyno at 121.1 hp and no flat spots
rear brake kinda touchy, front brake works well really gotta pull hard for stoppies
stock dunlops 207s love them would trade them for nothing
this bike is a real sleeping giant, dont under estimate this bike whatsoever
K&N filter , DD pipe .
Power is enough for begginer riders, engine vibrates a bit at mid revs.
good brakes , no noise , they make you fell the bike is very safe.
nice handling , but the bike could be a little lighter for the size.
It is a very nice bike , Honda recognized for the reliability of its products , if the bike was bad i would not be a best seller in america, i recomend the bike to everybody who just wants to have fun during the summer and have a nice reliable bike that looks very nice.
K&N AIR FILTER, PCIII, JARDINE HIGH MOUNT RACE BAFFLE S/O, WIND SCREEN, TAIL LIGHT INTEGRATOR, COMP WERKES FENDER ILLIMINATOR, STROBES, NEON, TANK BAG.
STRONG IN MID AND TOP RANGE POWER, SMOOTH POWER, GREAT MANUEVERABILITY.
GOOD BRAKING REACTS WELL TO CONTROLS.
LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO AND THE BIKE WILL TAKE YOU THERE. LOVIN IT.
I LOVE THIS BIKE, IT'S FUN, STRONG, AND 9 OUT OF 10 GIRLS LIKE IT TOO (THE 10TH DIDN'T WANT TO PISS HER BOY OFF WHILE HE WAS THERE).
Motad Nexxus header pipes, Remus road can. DID X-Ring chain. Taper roller bearing headset. Custom paint. DIY heatsink on voltage regulator / rectifier.
A little slow off the mark but then picks up quickly, slightly flat in the midrange but you can ride around it. Good top end rush and pulls hard to the redline. Engine braking is good and gives a nice crackle on downshifts. If I was an acceleration addict, I'd raise the back sprocket a couple of teeth - but I do alot of high speed cruising so like the tall gearing. Carrying a pillion does slow the bike down noticeably and you do have to work the engine hard to really get a move on when carrying a passenger.
Plenty strong enough and great feel. Front end sometimes seems to slide early in the wet - but that's probably just me! Back brake is also useful occasionally, and seems to work well. I've never felt like the brakes aren't slowing me up quickly enough, and they show no signs of fade.
On smooth roads the bike handles well and never feels like it's on the limit. I ride Bridgestone BT020s which place the emphasis on being hard wearing rather than super grippy. As a result I don't go scraping my pegs so can't comment on the handling of this bike when cranked *right* over. On more uneven surfaces the front end feels a bit vague for my liking and it doesn't inspire confidence to push hard as it's difficult to tell what the front tyre is doing. My bike has quite high miles on it (for a sport bike) and this could be down to the ageing suspension components. The bike changes direction beautifully through fast S bends and feels very well balanced. Even two-up the handling remains composed! The balance of the bike at slow speed is superb and filtering dense traffic in London is a breeze.
Overall I am very happy with my bike. I ride everyday and do around 450 miles a week. The bike is reliable and easy to maintain if you're a home mechanic. Fuel consumption is good (50 mpg). The only problem I've had that wasn't attributable to wear and tear was a blown voltage regulator / rectifier. I understand this to be a common fault on this bike and replacements aren't cheap. I'd suggest fitting your own heatsink to the unit to help keep it cool! As everyday transport this is a **great** bike and I'd recommend it to anyone. For the vast majority of riders it will have plenty of power, but if you're a total nutter you may find it a bit boring. I'm sure that if it was new I'd give this bike a "10". Even now it's old and well used, it deserves a "7".
Hindle full system, PCIIIr, K&N filter, Corben seat
I thought the stock map was not smooth at low rpm. The Power Commander really helped to smooth it out.
Brakes are ok for the bike. I never worry about stopping/slowing with them. The feel is not really good. (i did bleed them too!!!) I think changing the brake lines may help.
Point and go. I never worry about any curve I come across. I don't think I will ever find the edge of this bikesability.
Over all a great bike. One of my friends has a 02 ZX12r and another a GSXR1000. Both like to "swap" to ride the F4i. They love how light and quick it handles and feels. I would reccomend this bike to anyone.
I have installed a Jardine Slip on and a Power Commander 3r
The power curve is very smooth. I had the slip on and PC111 installed at the dealership with no miles yet on the bike, so i cannot speak on how they have improved the performance, but i can say there isnt a 600 i wouldnt run up against
The brakes are extraordinary. My endos are at the top of their game
I cannot find i curve i wwon't take on this bike. The stock tires are excellent and the handling of the bike is emmaculate.
I have ridden everything from 125cc dirtbikes to Hayabusas and this bike can definately hold its own in a pack, especially around 8-12000rpm, this bike shows its true colors...whats the color of fast again?
my mods so far are a k&n air filter, jardine rt1 race baffle titanium slip on, dyno jet power commander 3r, vortex 520 conversion with a minus 1 tooth front sprocket, d.i.d erv2 x ring gold link chain, sport tech black crome wind screen, blue 100 watt head lights, mototeck undertail, carbon fiber flush mount front turn signals, carbon fiber clutch/brake levers, different grips and few decals and such, barnett carbon fiber clutch kit, ebc front sintered hh brake pads, ebc kevlar (might be carbon fiber not sure) rear brake pads.
i do have the right set up since i have the fuel and ignition dyno tuned, there is no flat spots at all but at around 7800rpms, it has the most power all the way up its incredible for a "lil" 600
the stock brakes i couldnt complain about, but the ebc sintered hh pads on the front, my god, stop 2x faster and have way better response with less preasure applied to the brake lever, but if you go out and try to stop like you did with the stock pads on, i garauntee if its hot enough you will flip over and at the least skid the front tire no probblem, i suggest getting use to them carefully
it handles exstremely well, ive cut about 10lbs off the bike from stock and added dunlop d208 tires, it handles better than everything ive really ever ridden, and ive ridden alot of bikes from 600's to r1's
my comments have to be, the few performance mods ive made, make the bike run right with the big boys, i can ride right next to my buddy on his r1..lol but even stock for a 600, id take the f4i, very nimble and responsive
Micron pipe & jet kit, vortex sprockets.
A little sluggish off the line but pulls very hard from 5000 on up
strong and steady
handles very well, easy to ride hard, loves corners. dosent compaire to 2002 f4i or 600rr though.
Once you ride a honda i doubt you will ever go back, they do everything great, best overall package in a bike.
Stock
Firm accleration, Week power band in low rpm's
Some what soft at high speed stopping
Very comfortable leaning over. Stuck to pavment just fine
A very Friendly bike to ride. Great bike for a beginer. Fast, safe and a good price.
Hindle Exhaust, power commander kit, and some cosmetic upgrades.
My bikes at its peak rite now. Its a 600, and i can gas wheelies in 2nd no problem. Im lovin it, but i cant resist the new RR's (600). maybe next year.
(im a stunt lover) The front brake works good. i dont know about the back one.
Around corners are great, but i find over 100mph, small bumps feel huge on my bike, im thinking about making the suspension softer for next year, maybe that will help.
I like hondas, its been a good all around bike for me, and alot of ppl i ride with. RIDE SAFE everyone. . thanx
Erion Racing Pipe
Excellent stock power
Squeeling noise when light braking
Awsome handling,
I have a cbr600 and a R1 for speed the R1 of course but overall I would never give up the cbr.
Too many and planning more.637cc JE pistons,Erion cams,Hindle full system,K& N filter,ported,3 angle valve job,Dynojet kit,Fox shock,520 gearing 14-46 (1 down,3up)F3 forks,rad,bodywork also Armour Bodies bodywork painted candy wineberry red.Dyno'd at 100 HP with race gas.Metzeler Sportecs.390 lbs wet.
Perfect most of the time, occasionally won't pull hard enough above 10,000 in 5th and 6th.
Ferodo pads.Front brakes pretty good, back brake pretty useless since there isn't much left of the disc (drilled).
Fox shock and F3 forks help. Will do whatever you want it to in a corner.Lots of fun.
Eats bigger bikes at the dragstrip all the time,up to 900cc.Bigger ones may get eaten for the first 1/8 mile.Runs great, extremely reliable and even comfortable.10.84 quarter mile.
stock bike
very smooth power..Lots of getup and go, very twitchy throttle.
needs better brakes....you really pull hard after a few hard stops...need improvement
handles good around twisties and traffic.
a few rattles start appearing after awhile...hard to find them to fix. Start to live with the odd vibration and rattle....still looking for one that appears around 4k rpm... sounds like fairing noise...
no mods.
honda's fi is almost perfect, only fault is that it is a tad bit abrupt on and off around town.
Feel, Strength : first few hundred miles the front brake tried to toss me over the bars, now stoping is much less abrupt. almost perfect feel.
great.
Seat is good for only about 1 hour of riding. More range from fuel tank would be nice.Other wise a flawless machine.
Added ART pipe on and it made a big difference on acceleration and sound is "BEEFY" Also painted plastics and customized with Red Side Fairinigs and Black tail piece. Bought a REDBULL Sticker kit from Sportbikedecals.com and it looks like the red Bull race bike , Also installed 3 red pin lights in the stock mirror that are integrated with the turn signal........Look nice at night

Adjusted shocks to race settings out of British Sport Bike mag. Me and my bike are 1 on the turns. Spliting cars like in MATRIX 2 hahahahahahah

the power is very smoth. it has a steady pull right off the bat, but once you hit about 6000 it really kicks in.
the front brakes work like a charm but the back is not all that strong. you have to push them failly hard to get a good bit of the road.
this thing rides grate. i can cut through curves very eazy on it. it is very eazy to shift the bike for s-curves. the motor pulls so steady that, turning it up in a corner is not a problem
i love the bike.
List the modifications on this bike none yet. looking for right slipon.
any flat spots etc. rides like a honda
Feel, Strength good
excellent
in dire need of slipon, but confused on what brand to buy.
i have done a lot of hard work on this bike, personally i think it has been one of the best bike i've got, i have changed a lot of things to get it together the way i wanted, for example, i changed the exhaust pipe in order to get it louder, i have also changes part of the plastic parts to give it a more agressive look.
This is hard to say but my bike is a ping in the ass about carburetion, its sometimes annoying, sometimes it doesnt take off the way i want, or something its drowned in gas, so its hard to do wheelies on it.
great!! i think its its best feature, brekes are powerful, they have never let me dow, and have saved my ass a few times.
cool, you can almost lay on the bike while riding, its easy to take curves on it.
Great bike even when i have to do a lot more of hard work on it. I'd rather my last Katana 750cc., but i think this bike is cool enough. Please, Send an answer back!!!!!!!!!!! King_vazquez@hotmail.com

The bike has a stage 2 jet kit, Erion Racing pipe, K&N air filter, lightened aluminum Renthal sproket with 2 extra teeth, 170 rear tire(not 160 like stock), flush mounts front and back, custom undertail, rear set controls, etc....
Carburetion is great, smooth all the way to redline, really has punch above 7,500 RPM. Power is good, and the sproket really helped with to low end and mid range torque and power delivery.
Brakes are good and show little to no fade durring long sessions of high speed cornering and late braking. Upgraded pads and steel braided brake lines can make all the difference on this bike. Rear brake can be a little touchy, but are great for squareing off corners.
Bike handles great and is very ballanced, it can feel a little heavy at low speeds but who buys a bike to ride at low speeds? Stiffining the suspension helps high speed cornering. Rear set foot controls help in heavy cornering and are nessisary for better ground clearence(stock foot pegs drag arround corners even when you remove nuts from underneath foot pegs).
Overall a great bike for anyone from learners to experienced riders. This bike can be very forgiving in times of lapsed concentration, and very fast in the hands of an experienced rider.
D&D slip-on, stage 3 jet kit..rear fender removed..chain gaurd removed..flush mount turn signals
power is ok nothing that will hurt ya...carburation was smooth at all rpm's
great breaks..front a little touchey and rear loves to lock up for nice long slides
the light weight helps the handling a great deal the bike rides like it
this is a great beginner bike...there was no fear at full throttle..it was perfect til some car driver dident look booth ways before pulling out at a stop sign that he had....
2oo2 honda cbr f4i, corbin seats, scorpian slip-on. tinted shield.
power is amazing, for you folks out there that keep posting this. ALL 600 cc are low on horsepower around 3500 rpms. That is why I love the 600cc. Carburetion is smooth, and acceleration is awesome
Braking is great, about the same as the R6, etc.
Handles great. Stock tires are perfect for an average rider as myself
This makes my third Honda cbr, 99...2000, and now 2002. I can tell you this. For a general commuter,it is not comfortable at all. I have sat on the 2004, R6 and F4i ( with the one seat). I can tell you guys out there saying the 2002 f4i is "comfortable" Try riding another bike when comparing. My seat SUCKS even with the corbin. After about 1 hour, it feels like my !@# are frying. I have a slip-on, and like all of my other Honda's cbr's it vibrates, until my hand goes numb after about an hour. I will be purchasing either a new R6 or new f4i (with the one seat). This bike makes a great track bike, but a horrible every daily commuter.

any flat spots etc. None at all. Absolutely smooth as silk
Feel, Strength Brilliant. Instant responsiveness of brakes in any situation. Very tight braking, not grippy or too loose.
A dream. This bike pretty much steers itself. As others have said, it's a point and go bike in every sense of the phrase. She'll lean over easily and i've found the weight distribution to be perfect.
This is my first sports bike, and i've given it a bit of a caining to get used to it, and it's withstood all my attempts to find something wrong with it. I'm very happy with the buy, and would recommend the reliability, handling and overall safety of this bike to anyone, new or old riders.
Vans & Hines pipe
Great steady power all the way through the gears. No flat spots. As all the get up and go you need when you want it.
Feel, Strength Braking hard with the front brakes can make your rear end feel kind of loose, if you dont have your sespension set to your weight. But other than that you have a lot of control, it feels like its' part of you.
love it best bike i've road for handling. I used to have a YZF 600R before i got my CBR. The YZF cant even compare to how well my honda handles
overall i couldn't be happier with this bike. But although its older it doesn't have as much torque as some of the newer 600's which makes it hard to blast wheelies unless your in first gear, or high rpm;s in second
Steel braded brake lines, Stage three power commander, Yoshimura stainless exhast, K&N air intake
Power is reliable and immediate and smooth throughout bandwith.
Braking is easy to control with average effort at fingers.
Handling is nimble and east to control. This makes long trips woth while.
This is a true sport bike champion with the charachteristics to please a broad class of riders, from beginners to racers. This bike is no exception to the long standing reliability and advanced technology of the Honda Motor Corporation. A must have in my book!

Yoshimura TRS (High Exit) Full System, BMC Race Airfilter, Yoshimura EMS Fuel Management System, GPR Stabilizer, and some other non performance mods.
Bike does not seem to get going until 5000 RPMS, so I keep it above that mark and have no problems...8000 - 12000 power is at it's max, lots of fun.
Brakes are great...steel braided cables are a good mods for any brakes.
Since the bike is so light...one of the lightest 600s the handling is amazing. Put a nice race tire on the back and you are good to go.
Honda need to get with the program on seating...it is by far the hardest seat I have felt.
No modifications
very fast, especially since it was the second bike i ever rode( first one being a 1985 honda rebel 250cc)
Was powerful
Amazing...very "friendly" since it was the second time i ever got on a bike, and the first sports bike i ever rode....within 15 minutes i was on the highway doin over 100
The bike is really easy to learn and get comfortable with..i'd say perfect to learn how to do tricks if you are into that..enough power for a first bike to last you a couple years
jet kit, two brothers pipe
lack of midrange, especially in fourth, otherwise scary at fist
very confident in front
tight
this is my first bike, so some of my comments may have no comparison. been riding about 7 months. very fun
Carbon Fiber tank pad,gas cap, and mirrors; undertail, flush mount signals
I love the power of this bike. It gives me all the power that i need with no engine mods.
Awesome braking system that has saved my ass many times from stupid assholes in their "cages"
This f4i handles great, I'm in the process of looking for a steering dampener...anyone knowing of a nice one or one that they have for sale..email me.
i love my f4i...id recommend one to anyone...you all ride safe and email me if you wanna ride in the Tampa area....imaghost20@msn.com...holla at ya boy and ride safe!!!!
Yoshi pipe
Nice kick in around 6000 RPMS
Great stopping power

Great Bike. Havent ridden anything more comfortable in a sport bike.
DnD slip on pipe
Good all round 600.. peaks between 8500 and 12500 rpm.. also sound great with the pipe!
plenty of braking power to the front and rear tires.
Very smooth handling at high speeds. Takes corners with confidence and is very stable through the turns. I have never set this bike down or recked..
This is the first bike that i have owned. It is a great starter bike for anyone to learn on. Plenty of power and also looks great.. I have had no problems with bike besides gerneral maintance.
K&N, Stage 1 Jet Kit, Scorpion exhaust, 14t front sporcket and 45t rear sprocket
not bad at low revs. strong broad powerband for a 600. witha pipe and jetted no real noticeable flats.
Honda is the king of brakes.
A little heavy compared to newer models but more comfortable and very forgiving.
Overall great general purpose bike. good for starters of intermediate. Track or street will do nice on either if ridden right. Honda's are reliable and smooth bikes.

4000-5000 top end engine noise????HAS ANY ONE determined, what the top end noise is at 4-5000 rpm it goes away then comes back at times? Some time louder than other times? Dealer say's "??????" Never heard of the problem or noise ? Sounds ok to them?? I just don't want it coming apart at 160mph!! I noticed Keith E had the same noise. Does anyone Know what it is or how to fix it? Chain tensioner? tensioner rail.
Akrapovic CF slip-on
Really opens up 7000+, No big surprises in delivery, Good power for a 600
Very responsive
Light and flickable
MUCH more comfortable than other 600 sportbikes, yet still has the power to easily keep up, Akrapovic pipe looks great and sounds deep
None Stock
Smooth power delivery. If your a beginner it may seem jerky due to fuel injection just takes some getting used to. Learn to blip your throttle so the rear end will behave when your running the curves and carrying some speed.
Powerful.. One finger is all you need for the front and a light touch on the rear around town..
Quick and fast.. Very forgiving..
Very user friendly bike, Quick to turn in, holds a good line and is adaptable to changes, Still trying to find a better tire for this baby..
d ana d slip on pipe jet kit k and n
little bit doggy but pulls hard from 5000 to 1300
braking is good
drives like it on rails
its thus far the best bike i have ridin it also does kick ass wheelies
