Carberation

Throttle is very responsive yet easy to control. Clutch action feels really good. The transmission works remarkably well with slick shifts. I've yet to miss a shift and with the "positive neutral finder" finding neutral at a light is simple. Nice smooth power starts coming on around 3000RPM with a meaty mid-range and an absolutely wicked top end. Above 7000RPM, this bike rips!

Brakes

Initial bite is soft compared to some sport bikes. But the brakes are very strong with good feel. The rear is particularily effective but does not easily lock up. Easy to modulate. The bike responds well while braking mid-corner and tips into corners easily while on the brakes.

Handling

First rate! Extremely nimble and flickable in tight turns with excellent stability in the sweepers. Handles slow speeds and parking lots with ease too. I can't say enough about it. Awesome!

Comments

Simply put, this bike puts a huge grin on my face every time I ride it. It's comfortable, agile, ferociously quick and turns heads everywhere I go. The stock exhaust is quiet but still sounds a little gnarly. Overall, the styling works and I like it although there are a few things I would have done differently if I was the designer. No big deal.

Carberation

Bike pulls strong up to redline, really hits hard from about 7000 to 10000

Brakes

Great Breaks, plenty strong enough

Handling

Corners like a dream, light enough so riding in town is fun.

Comments

Full Yoshi system, the ZX9R fits with very minor alterations.Wider bars I like to see whats behind other than my armpits.

Carberation

There was a Big flat spot with the standard exhaust system, the Yoshi fixed that a bit,but its still there just coming off second,if you flatten it no problem, but its not possible all the time to do that.

Brakes

Good ,plenty of feel,very predictable.

Handling

Best Ive has of late.

Comments

Good bike now it has the new exhaust system, looks good in orange, its a lot lighter,in fact one of the twin mufflers weighed as much as the whole yoshi system, best $18000 (live in Australia) Ive spent.

Front sprocket

Carberation

Good high end power but weak off-line. Very responsive in higher rpm range. Gearing is a little tall but can be fixed with a different sprocket. The front gets light easily and the stock rear tire slips a little too much.

Brakes

Close to sport bike brake performance as you can get. OK feel.

Handling

This doesn't handle like a super sport no matter what other people tell you. It does handle good for a naked though, with a few problems. It's not very stable at high speeds, handlebars wobble after 90mph. I corrected most of this with more rear preload but it's still not as tuneable as I'd like.

Comments

Wait and buy a used one; these get hit hard after a year or two. Good around town bike though. No mechanical problems, but signs of coolant leakage near water pump. B- overall.
