Mods

Taller screen, pegs, soft luggage, stock power.

Carberation

A little abrupt off/on the throttle. Otherwise, it pulls like a freight train from 2500 RPM.

Brakes

Very strong, good feel. Does it have a rear brake?

Handling

Took a little time to dial in (up the preload/compression, lower rebound front and rear). A little heavy going side-to-side, bu noreal complaint. Considering reversing the chain adjuster to quicken steering.

Comments

I LOVE this bike! This is my last bike (until the next one). Very comfortable for all day touring. Incerdible amount of bike for the money.

Mods

List the modifications on this bike Taller windscreen, anodized pegs, gel grips, Hindle bolt on canister, sintered brake pads.

Carberation

any flat spots etc. The throttle is abrupt, everybody says that, and I think it has to do with the K-tric carbs, because when I had mine tuned up and they messed with the sensor, it was actually smoother. Then the dealer "fixed it" and now ya can't keep the wheel down. Hey, its 1164 cc's, what did you expect? Power is delivered in loads, and the bike never stalls out because of my lack of clutch use at stop signs. (Those signs are a suggestion, right? Nobody ever makes a COMPLETE stop)

Brakes

Feel, Strength The six pot calipers felt better than my friends FZ-1 with the four pot set up. The brakes are strong, I just wanted more feel and more grab at the start of the brake stroke, so I changed to sintered metallic pads....HUGE DIFFERENCE

Handling

Go to ZRXOA page for tips on dialing in suspension....after that it's great. There is an extraordinary amount of front end shake at about 110 to 120....thought it was the tires out of balance, but they can only spin balance to 70mph, so the world may never know. Just go faster or slower and you are set.

Comments

Loved the bike..sad to see it go, but that SV1000S was calling to me from the showroom floor. This was supposed to be my "transistion bike" from sport bikes to cruisers, but after two years it didn't materialize. Hey, I'm kinda going cruiser, I did buy a V-Twin after all....

List the modifications on this bike: Muzzy exhaust, Stage 3 Jet Kit, 44 tooth rear sprocket, 16 tooth front.

Carberation

Just got back from running a 2000 Honda CBR 1000 F. Not even close. Top gear roll on, third gear roll on, dead stop. Just completely dusted the Honda. Guy was a good sport and wanted to know what I had in my bike. So I told him. Had this bike dynoed recently here in Belleville, Illinois, but I kind of question the numbers. The bike just before me was a heavily modified Hayabusa that produced 160 pounds of torque and 206 hp at the rear wheel. Mine went 90 pounds of torque and 154.7 bhp. Sounds high, though. This bike accelerates like a rocket and stops just as hard. The suspension is more than I can push. Probably the best bike for the money in the world.

Brakes

Feel, Strength. Great.

Handling

Handling is way beyond my expertise to push. Straight line is dead smooth.

Comments

Until I run a Hayabusa I can't really say. No 600 comes close. Not yet, anyway. This bike just clobbers bikes like a V-Rod or a Buell. But what large bore sport bike doesn't? I work with a guy who rides a 2004 Fatboy. He won't ride with me because he doesn't like those little bits of road debris that get kicked into his face whenever I twist the throttle. But, he rides a Harley and watches American Chopper, so he's as happy as the lobotomy patients up at the local mental hospital. He knows he should just leave the real motorcyles to the guys with the balls to ride them.-gp

Mods

List the modifications on this bike None current, want to know if anyone compared Muzzy stage 2 jets and full exhaust to Hotshot, full exhaust stage 2

Carberation

any flat spots etc. bikes great as it is, but want to jet and exhaust for more power, get rid of flat spot at 4500-5000rpm

Brakes

front brake a little to strong

Handling

best all around "standard"

Comments

The bikes a 8.5, and will be a 9.25 with the right exhaust and jetting. Eventually could be a 10 with muzzy cams and 1264 kit!

Yosh rs-3 pipe. ivans jet kit, open air box, timer advance kit, 16 and 40 rear vortex sprockets, 205/50-zr17 cooper brand rear tire like sports cars use and many other acc.

Carberation

Tons of midrange where we ride most of the time. E.T. drag time 129 mph at 10.8 sec. I've had almost a hundred bikes in my time but this is the most fun to ride.

Brakes

Great feel and stopping power.

Handling

With the sports car rear tire it likes to go streight more than it likes to turn.

Comments

Great bike, feels like it was made for me!

Mods

List the modifications on this bike ZX11 cams, Muzzy stainless/alum.,Dyno Jet stage 3 with individul filters.

Carberation

Pulled extremely hard from 7000 rpm into rev limiter. A little less than stock HP up to 7000 rpm. Had to change needle settings and pilot jets to get it to run well in cold spring weatherand had to change again for warmer summer weather. Stock bike pulled well from idle to 8500rpm where the power suddenly drops off.

Brakes

Brakes are excellent, no complaints. More than enough. Very good feel.

Handling

Handling in around town conditions is excellent and is easy to throw around. At high speed open road the chassis seems a bit loose and doesn't have too confident of a feel, but it still handles very well for the type of bike it is.Straight line is fairly stable if road and wind conditions are O.K

Comments

An excellent all around bike, very good all around handling, easy to ride and excellent power band(lots of low end). With a few modifications this bike really screams.Block long wheelies are easy to accomplish. Has beaten Yamaha R1, YZF1000's. Haven't had any breakdowns and this bike doesn't have the easiest life. I love this bike and won't part with it.
