have had both a 94 and a 95.put muzzy on one and ss2r carbon fiber on the other.both were jetted and both got soft rubber.iraced the 94 and had the 95 for street
good power al the way thru the gears to top speed.
excelent brakes front and back. very very stable in hard braking.
perfect handling.can't find a more stable bike.period
race or street an excelent bike all the way around.would have never sold them. but time marches on. i bought a 1996zx7r to replace one and raced the other for a few years. i'm still riding the 96 and its been an awsome ride.
Yoshi Slip-on,Dynojet kit,K&N Airfilter,Carbon Hugger,Carbon Bits everywhere,Wet weight down to 198kg.
Flat spot due to Jetkit below 3 grand picks up wickedly from there to 14 grand.
Feels strong compared to some bikes, slightly ahead of R1 Is my general feeling.Does seem to fade after a couple of hours on the track though.Still Great stopping. Easy to do Stoppies.
Was a bit on the porky side but I think people confuse having a large petrol tank to being heavy. Turns in great and is as stable as a train on rails. Lifted the forks 11 mm through the yokes, lifted the tail 5 mm to,extremely radical turning.
Not a wheelie machine, but then what do yo want a monocycle? With mods this is the best bike on the road, there are faster and more powerfull but nothing compares having a ass twitching 750 between your legs that corners on rails.
Flush mount blinkers, eliminator kit, full muzzy exhaust, jetted
Has alot torque and mid-range
Brakes could be a little better
It handles pretty well on sharp turns but handles very well in sweeping turns doing around 95+mph. Excellent on windy days.
I dont know why people underestimate the ZX7R. It is pretty fast, my friends have R1's,GSXR's,929RR and i have ridden them. The ZX7 is on the same level of performance. I also have a 2001 R6 Limited, huge difference. There is a reason they ride ZX7Rs in AMA and FIM Superbikes.
full Muzzy Race exhaust with oval can, factory jet kit
power is good but flatspot until about 3000rpm. Anything over 3000 is awesome
smooth at no matter what speed. No grabbing or soft pedal
Handling is nice. Smooth throughout the turns. Even at 100mph
I love tis bike. It's one of the most comfortable sportbikes I've ridden and owned fo long rides. At first I was disapointed cause of engine noise. Sounded like no oil but the dealer mechanic said they all do it cause they still use a timing chain. Other than that I would neer get rid of it.

ull Muzzy race exhaust with oval slip on, Facor jet-kit
has flat spot until around 3000, after that the power is awesome.
brakes are smooth front an rear,no grabbing or spongy feel
handles great through out the turns. even at 100 still smooth all the way through
Great all round bike. Most comfortable out of all bikes I've owned and riden. Don't like the valvetrain noise but you learn to deal with it. It's normal.
Muzzy stainless full sys, keihin FCR 39mm, ohlins rear and front spring, 3 angle valve, knn filter
any flat spots etc. Good power delivery with FCR.. nice riding on track
Strong braking power with EBC rotor and double-H pad and aftermarket braided hose.
Stock shocks can give an "enjoyable" ride. Recommanded to change to aftermarket.
Although bike is abit old but it still rocks.. need to reduce weight ...
List the modifications on this bike just a yoshi pipe and Reeds.
any flat spots etc. lots of power, but seems like a heavy bike.(so my friends say)
Feel, Strength seems fine to me
excellent
is engine noise a common thing for the older Ninja's?
Yoshimura end can,Dynojet kit stage one, standard air filter,114bhp on back wheel, under tray tail section cut away, slim line and daimond indicators, pilion handles polished,EBC HH rated brake pads.BT 010 rubber front and back.
There is a flat under 3500 rpm but after that there is a smooth power and torque curve all the way to 13500 rpm
Braking is 100% better than oem brake pads, initial bite is better, with no fade on track days, probably the best thing the ZX7 can have done to it, is have EBC HH rated pads fitted.
I have lowered the yoke through the forks by 10mm and raised the back ride height 8 mm, it has changed the slow and somtimes sluggish turner into a razor sharp handling tool, also to improve turning in I changed the profile of the front tyre to a 120/60/17 over the oem 120/70/17. I found this quite drastic but like the feel from the front, with all these mods still to get a slapper.
Build wise it is classic Kawasaki, the finish could be rounded of a bit better but then I wouldn't have anything to do on the bike, ride is comfortable above 160 km/h slower town driving is wrist killers. Still one of the best bikes the rest of the world over looks.Still gets poduim finishes in WSBK!!!
FULL AKRAPOVIC EVOLUTION TITANIUM SYSTEM FACTORY JET KIT M-1 TIRES EUROTAIL
its a great bike. It does't have any flat spots, but still adjusting jets to get full potential of exhaust. At 7000rpm's power is relentless.
Soft brakes, easy to trail brake thru a turn.
Rides real smooth thru any turn. It holds to the road and allows a deeper radious thru even the sharpest of turns.
Wish the would produce a ZX10R so I can move to a bigger bike.
completely stock. This is my 3rd zx7r, I sell them to friends with little money.
Stock everything
I was in North Carolina last year at Deals Gap (318 turns in 11 miles) It was my first time riding corners PERIOD -since florida is soo FLAT!- but within the first 5 miles i could slide the front tire on a corner during braking and still feel like i could have pushed harder and further.
I was in North Carolina last year at Deals Gap (318 turns in 11 miles) It was my first time riding corners PERIOD -since florida is soo FLAT!- but within the first 5 miles i could confidently go FULL power on a hill corner (slanting for rain drainage) while the front tire would come off the ground and the rear tire SLIDING out because of the g's pushing outward! and STILL FELT LIKE I COULD HAVE PUSED MORE!
Im pissed that i heard kawi may stop production and only go with the 636. I have not ridden the 636 but sat on it and it IS lighter on top (i thought it was comparable almost to the KX250) but i wonder how confident i would be on it in the corners. corners are all that matter to me (wheelies do not prove skill) CHECK OUT www.tailofthedragon.com for info to the best riding i have ever had since my motorcross days!
List the modifications on this bike: 1) LP Trick Kit 2) Small Rear Blinkers 3) D207's
Excellent carburetion as a whole. Small, unexplainable flat spot between 3K and 4K, then runs like a scalded dog. Excellent midrange, great torque, motor feels like a well tuned 900, not a 750. Incredible intake noise, growls like it is on a mission to pass EVERYTHING!
Front brakes are very strong but a bit touchy, could be time for new pads. Easy to modulate with decent feel, but sometimes vague when trail braking. Rear brake does its job, nothing unusual to report.
Stable as a dump truck! Does not get upset in bumpy corners or on uneven pavement. Does require a bit of extra work to turn quickly but it pays off huge in stability. Feels good underneath you, not intimidating to ride unless you are up on the pipe.
I spent all of the 2002 Spring/Summer riding motorcycles. I rode and RC51, YZF600R, R6, R1, GSX-R 1000, TL-R 1000, ZRX1200R, SV650, VFR, ZX-6R, ZX-7R, Firebolt, V-Rod, and nothing felt as good to me as the 7R. It is very confidence inspiring and beleive all that you read or hear about the bike. Yes, it is heavier but that works in your favor when commuting and when in a rough corner. Eric Bostrom still rides a factory 7R and he is super competitive. And nothing looks or sounds like a 7R, it just looks the business!
completely stock 96
thing is flat out fast, but it has needed carb work. Absoluetly cold blooded when trying to start it. takes a solid 5 min. to warm up.
smooth braking, but rear have been prone to over heat on me--causes heat bubbles in pads. Needed replacement a couple of times due to this.
You could scrap the pegs and still keep it on two wheels through any corner. Wheelies are a challenge though. Bike seems to be glued to the ground. Good or bad depending on what you want.
This bike is straight up smooth. I've ridden cbrs, r-1,r-6's, and 750 gsxr....none feel as tight as the ninja.
Muzzy pipe.....jetted....K&N filter.
Not alot of power but not bad for an 11 year old 750. No bad flat spots. Not a great wheelie machine at all!!!
Not great brakes.....but could be upgraded
Actually not that good compared to other 750's.....I was suprised a 750 with that hardcore riding position didn't handle that well.
Probably one of the nicest looking bikes of it's time.....but the dedicated riding position and poor power just doesn't cut it......maybe a good beginners bike if you're a small person.
not a damn thing, except for D208s READ THE REST OF MY COMMENTS AT THE BOTTO0M ALOT OF GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THE BIKE
you have got to make sure that you,ve got your idle just right, mine is at 1300rpm, some may be different. it really helps when your warming it up or when your popping the throttle, smashing on any bike in sight, except for the badass little man ZX7R
back tire gets a little squirrely when you see something coming across the road, and you know you got to see what your zixxer is made of,braking that is. other wise it brakes nice in the curves.
handles like it is on rails, I love to eat R1s, gixxers, and 929s for lunch. these guys always pull up at the gas station on there bad ass looking bikes, all with larger engines and mods sporting the big tatoo of the engine displacement. While I just finish my cigarette and folow them only to blow right past em
I think that people under estimate this bike way to much, but to those of you who ride them, you know what I,m talking about. one other thing kawasaki sucks for discontinuing the ZX7, I guess Im gonna have to get the new ZX10, I sure hope it has the same potential, its gonna be hard to match the ZX7
yosh rs3 slip on, k&n air filter, cut off rear fender, stage1 factory jet kit. plans for one less tooth in the front in the werks
starts up in the cold great, flat spot just before 3000 rpm, tons of power above 3000rpm, and all smooth
braking is right on. when i first got the bike it was a little touchy, i had to get used to it. but this is what i want when i am trying to stop a dump truck from 100mph+ now that i know how they work, i would not ask for any changes in the brakes. (note: i have never been to the track with it)
can take any corner you throw at it, at pretty decent clips (80, 90+ mph). bumps have no meaning when riding this thing; it is stable like a tank.
this zx7-r is amazing, the riding posistion takes a little getting used to, and it can feel heavy in turns at parking lot speeds. great 2nd bike in my opinion. i love showing my friends with huge cc machines that i too can eat up the road just as well (if not better) on my lesser hp freight train
braided brake lines , iginition advancer
Needs to be reved hard , then really flies
my front disks are slightly warped , however braking is still good
Rear suspension is a tad harsh , however have scrapped pegs and bike felt planted
for what i paid for it it was a bargain & is a real head turner , don;t make like this any more !
Full Muzzy exhaust, jet kit, cut fender, BT56 front and rear.
Flat (anemic) below 3000-3500, 3500-7000 makes good yet civil power, hits hard from 7000-9000, 9000+ hits like a demon, very powerful, Feels like an open classer.
What can I say, it stops. Fast. Nice brakes. Nice feel as well.
So far very well, however I just bought it and I'm still sorting out the suspension. Once sorted for my weight and riding style it will be a razor on wheels for sure. BTW when I took my first ride, it handeled quite well which was quite a shock when I later found out my tires were 10 pounds low, and the front fork adjustments were not the same from right to left. After readjusting everything back to stock settings(and putting some air in the tires), it's handling was quite improved. After "hardening it up some" it handles like a dream. Next is to play with the ride heights to speed that steering up some. Stability will be affected I'm sure, however with all the inherent stability this machine has I doubt it will lose much there. She has plenty more to give in the handling department. I'll keep you posted.
This is the sixth bike I have owned. I bonded instantly with this machine. This bike has a strong motor, great brakes, awesome realworld handling, and serious head turning ability. So she may not be the best wheelie machine, but put a good rider with a well setup suspension on this bike and you'll be giving the riders on thier new featherweights fits in the off, and in some cases on, track world. You won't be disappointed with a ZX7, especially if you find a good deal on one that hasn't been beat up. Don't overlook one. Excellent Machine!!! I love my green meanie =D
Fender Eliminator Gutted Exhaust Custom Paint Job
Flat Spot 0-60 picks up after that but slows up around 120 Sounds like your going somewhere but your in the same spot
Braking was just right could have been more responsive from both ends
Went around the corners like a dream but a bit of a bulky bike. Could have have been a lot sleeker.
I was overall happy with the bike but I wanted something not some much top end and less bulky
Yoshimura carbon fiber slip-on. Factory jet kit. K&N air filter.
Excellent mid-rangs with good power on top.
Stilll best brakes I have tried on any bike.
Very good but needs body english. Suspension was always rated too stiff....good for heavy guys.
Just a great bike...won Daytona 2 or 3 times??
d&d exhaust stage 3 jet kit turbo pushen 11 pounds
any flat spots etc.
Feel, Strength
d&d exhaust stage 3 jet kit turbo pushen 11 pounds
130 hp @6500rpm
brumbo brakes
it handels bad ass
this bike is pf the chain
vance and hines slip on/Air filter remove
no flat spots but alittle sluggish off idle to about 3200rpm. Very powerful after that
excelent stopping speed at all angles,Does nice stoppie.
Love the handling, hadles like a dream
I'd have to say this is the best all around bike I've ever owned. Alot of people have said that this bike doesn't have enough power for wheelies but I disagree because I am a 220lb. rider and I can roll on the gas at 5000rpm and wheelie it until it goes against the limiter. I stand up and just pull back alittle as I roll on it and hold it about 11'oclock comfortablly. I'd say that's plenty of power! I dragrace mine and I have turned a 7.03et at 103mph in the 1/8 mile.

yoshi slip on, k&n air filter, 1 tooth down in the front, 5 up in the back.
no flat spots. 7grand and up it pulls like hell.
brakes feel fine. my pads need to be replaced.
handles great, have never felt uncomfortable.
this is my first bike. it was not too much bike to start with, but it has been easy to make it a bike that will beat my buddies 05 cbr 1000 RR. only about $500 in upgrades makes it accelerate like an animal.
Yoshi alloy slip-on, custom stainless mid-pipe. K&N air filter, OEM ZX7-RR rear shock, cut-down rear fender, heated grips, Dunlop D208 tyres, black fitted sheepskin seat covers, 55 watt headlight bulbs.
A bugger to start on cold mornings if not ridden for a while. Some occasional bother under 3000 rpm, then great all the way up to the rde line. Will wheelie away froim the lights pretty easily.
Pretty good - can lift the rear under hard braking. No issues with mid-corner braking. Will get braided lines soon.
As long as the tyre pressures are right (36 f, 41 r), it just goes around corners as if it is on rails. Thinking it through a 160 km/h bend it fantastic - I weigh 110 kilos and I just love to corner it with the pegs (both hero blobs scraped off). Keeps up easily with Fireblades up and down the coastal mountains. I have just put 2400 km on it on the past 4 weekends in country travel, and aside from the winter cold here it was just heaven to ride.
P2 nodel - the original green/white/purple is the classic colour scheme - minimal graphics, just the best. In a parked group of Ducatis and Hondas, my green meanie is the one that draws the looks, and don't the other guys hate that! I love this bike. I wish I could move the pegs back about 1 inch....
full system Muzzy, factory jet kit tuned perfect, factory ignition advancer,207 race rubber, carbon fiber air duct covers and other carbon accents
awsome power from 0 to when ever you want to let off. tons of low end grunt and very fast.
strong brakes in stock mode.rolling stoppies no problems.very stable braking in corners.
one of the best handling bikes i have ever owned.many people have rode my bike and they all have been very impressed.and they all say the very same thing....(i heard that the zx7r was suppose to be a heavy tank. i didn't get that feeling at all.)and as far as the year it dont matter all zx7's are very stable right from the factory.
well, long and short of it..yes it's heavier than most bike in it's class. but i have yet to be taken in any manner.i've owned this bike since new.have had nothing but fun with it and no troubles.as i said before the best bike i have ever owned.enough said..
CARBON FIBER MICRON SLIP ON DROP ONE TOOTH IN THE FRONT
GOOD POWER, ESPECIALLY COMING OFF THE LINE, THE WEIGHT HELPS YOU TAKE OFF FASTER THAN THE COMPETITION BECAUSE THEIR FRONT WILL COME UP, BUT NOT YOURS, MORE OF A DRAG FOR ME
GOOD STOPPING DISTANCE
VERY STABLE, VERY COMFORTABLE FOR THE SHORTER RIDER
LOVE THE BIKE, JUST TOO HEAVY FOR ME. IF YOUR INTO STUNTS, THIS IS NOT THE BIKE FOR YOU. YOU HAVE TO REALLY EARN THE WHEELIE ON THIS BIKE, IT'S JUST TOO HEAVY.
