Yosh Full System. LP windscreen. Tires (Dunlop 207 front and Bridgestone BT010 Rear.

Carberation

Bike has some carb "gliches" when easing into the throttle and a slight hesitation when whacked open.

Brakes

Srong brakes with a progressive feel. Could go for grippier pads.

Handling

This bike feels a little top heavy for a 600 and wide at the tank compared to my twin. That being said, it handles very well and is quite predictable while flicking through corners.

Comments

I had to get used to the peaky power band and felt myself waiting for the rpms to wind up. Once in the hot zone(9-11,000)it has a nice top end rush. Pipe screams and airbox howels are quite pleasent. Comfort was also quite good for a 600 and I had a nice semi-crouch position going.

List the modifications on this bike Mostly stock except muzzy carbon fiber slip on.

Carberation

This bike seems to have a great powerband from top to bottom or vice versa, high revving for top power, but overall very smooth.

Brakes

Feel, Strength Brakes make me overly confident most of the time. Amaze me everytime I stomp on them. Have yet to want better pads.

Handling

Bike is great even for extended trips. Easy to flicker through turns, feels heavy for a 600 especially at slow speeds.

Comments

Muzzy pipe roars and I love it. Bike overall has been completely satisfying so far.

Carberation

a slight hesitation noticed when trying to open it up, but that's about all I've noticed

Brakes

Awesome. Very reliable, had a close call where I really had to stress them, but they totally came through!

Handling

Very comfy, great for distance trips, or all nighters.. tight corners made easy... perfect for a new rider.

Comments

I had a difficult time picking a bike, but ended up with this one and found it perfect for a new rider. The crouch on it isn't as extreme as say the R6 or cbr, but the slight raise provides enough movement for excellent control. No liter bike, but really enough power for the in town user...

Mods

1) A rear hugger 2) Scottoiler chain oiling system (probably sound lame but I don't worry about oiling the chain anymore, but keeps the back wheel dirty all the time so you need to clean it frequently) 3) Kevlar cluctch plates 4) HyperPro Steering Damper

Carberation

Seems to have a minor stumble around 3.000 rpm but nothing bothersome. Other than that there is smooth useable power everywhere, but you need to keep it above 10.000 rpm if you really want to take off. Still good midrange power for a 600.

Brakes

I haven't been very happy with braking lately but I think the pads need changing. I have sampled the Brembos of a 900 Monster and liked them a lot, but it also had metal braided brake lines. I am planning to get new pads, metal/kevlar brake lines and change the hydraulic fluid and this may improve things.

Handling

I had a ZX7R previously and 6R felt like a bicycle at first. So light and responsive! I got used to the feeling gradually. Some people say it's a little top heavy at slow speeds but I am unable to verify this as I haven't sampled other 600s. I have taken it to the track and it felt great. I pulled the forks up for 7 mm with a friend who told me to compensate for the change from a Michelin (120/65) to a Bridgestone (120/70) and to speed up the steering in the track a little. It felt better at the track afterwards and I haven't noticed any setbacks in the street. I bought the Hyperpro steering damper mainly as a safety device as the streets here in Turkey are less than perfect. I am comtemplating a front fork rebuild as it has too much compression damping which makes it quite harsh over the bumps.

Comments

I love this bike! I have commuted, toured and went to track with it. It has beatiful power, nice light feeling, gets great fuel mileage and looks mean. There are things that could be improved such as the fuel petcock (get rid of it, everyone has), front suspension harshness (possibly cured with the European ZX636R) and etc. but I am very happy that I bought this bike

Mods

I havn't added any Mods to it yet because i'm thinking about buying something else. just good tires bridgestone 010.

Carberation

This bike has not been punished yet, but once I had about 5000 Km's on it, the bike seemed to generate a rather large flat spot at about 8000-9000 RPM. It is so bad that If I was in top gear at that RPM range (approx 150 km/h) the bike would never power out of it. I had it checked out but no results. Though the airbox honk brings a smile to my face every time I ride it.

Brakes

The braking is average to good but could be alot better since I tried my friends 2000 R6.

Handling

Handling is good but it feels a little porky in the front end. It has to be one of the most comfortable sportbikes that I have ever ridden. Seating position for me is perfect and i'm 5'10".

Comments

Would be a descent bike for a long trip. Maybe a little bit underpowered compared to the newer 600's. The carb problem realy pisses me off.

Carberation

Makes good power down at 3,500 and all the way up to 14,000. On cold days 45degrees or less I think it has a little carb icing problem.

Brakes

Front are great rears or almost worthless

Handling

Bike handles excellent. Haven't been left behind in the twisties ever. Feels planted in midcorner.

Comments

I recommend this bike to anyone who is not logging a whole lot of miles on a bike as a commuter( any 600 for that matter) becuase at highway speed any 600 will get a little buzzy. I put 14,500 miles on it in 4 months then I hit a deer and totalled it it is getting replaced with either a 9R or an R1.

Carberation

small glitche off the go, ran highest octane gas I could find and cleared the problem up. I put the bike on the dyno stock and pushed about 91 horses. with the yosh pipe slip on now. i am at 97 horses with no jet kit since my bike was running rich I could probably put the stage one and with some minor cleaning of the aircleaner I will hit 100 horses.

Brakes

the front average but good for trail braking through the corners. back brake it has one? enuff said. maybe steelbraided brake lines and some different pads will clear up this problem

Handling

being 6'3" 215 this bike is an unbelievable handling I can scrap the turn signals with race rubber. and flick it right back SWEET

Comments

Overall I love my bike it is alot of fun great handling some glithches but minor fixes with a good shop mechanic and a dyno. I love the bike just need a back break....

Mods

Nothing mechanical as of yet. I have added a smoked windscreen and some carbon fiber pieces, along with some colored handgrips, but that is it. I hope to put a jet kit and a performance exhaust on it this summer.

Carberation

The bike is pretty good on acceleration, but really takes off around 8,000 rpm and higher. This bike will wheelie just by staying on the throttle hard. Carburetion is typical as it has a slight hesitation when snapped open, but quickly catches up to itself.

Brakes

Stoppers on this bike are awesome. Rear brake is the best of any other bikes I have ridden. Front brakes are excellent as well. Not much effort is required to haul this bike down from high speeds.

Handling

I have not had a chance to thoroughly test the handling of this bike yet. But the bike is very light, and turns quickly when you want it to. The bike tracks straight when you let go of the handlebars.

Comments

As is evident of the mileage on this bike, I just purchased it, and have not gotten to ride this bike at any major length. City driving is simple on this bike, and you wouldn't believe the number of chicks that ask for rides when you drive by. An all around excellent bike, although I wouldn't recommend it to a novice rider. Lots of power that can take you by surprise.

Added: Blue LSL-racesteps, a Titanium Two Grade BOS-muffler and removed the DB-eater, a MDI js-windscreen with blue alluminium screws, carbon tankshield, carbon look rear hugger, a taillight splitter and I replaced the indicators for a smaller type. Still to come in a few weeks is the tuning part.

Carberation

I didn't really test it, because of the brake in period. But the 636 allready feels more powerfull in lower gears than the ZX-6R of 2000 I owned before.

Brakes

The six piston Tokico's are great and equal to the 2000 version.

Handling

Just perfect especially in the city and on mountain roads. For the mountains I have to travel to Germany, Austria or France, because Holland is just a flat country.

Comments

I've always driven Kawasaki's (GPX 600R, ZZR 600, ZX-9R and ZX-6R, but this is the best 600(+) I've ever owned. I only miss the Bhp's of my 1994 ZX-9R.

No modifications yet, allthough I'll be having new tyres this week: Bridgestone BT010 front and rear

Carberation

I love it! It has enormous power, really great! It is faster than my former bike, a Triumph Daytona 900 (1995) which is now being ridden by my husband (bike was too heavy for me during stops - riding was good, but standing with it... I fell two times and got fed up with it...). The ZX6R accelerates much faster than the Triumph!

Brakes

Sometimes I feel I need some more grip. But then again: I don't want to do a stoppie...

Handling

Really easy, once used to its power.

Comments

Me and my Kawa, it's just perfect... I feel great riding it! Too bad I can't find a way to tie my luggage (holiday) on it...

Brakes

Feel, Strength Brakes are pretty good but at the moment I have no need for better.

Handling

Im 6ft 225lbs. and the susp was a bit soggy but now that Ive tweaked it a bit its really awesome for my type of riding.

Comments

This is my first bike and I really love the total package. I now love the twisties, she WILL power wheelie in 1st and 2nd gear. The more I ride this bike the more I want to ride. I could not have made a better choice.

Carberation

What most people do not realize is the flat spot they feel when punching the throttle is do to the kawasaki ktric system on the bike that optimizes throttle responce and this sometimes is noticed as a flat spot. my bike dyno run was 103 hp and 47 lbs torque. not bad for a 600 but in todays standard even as a 600 it is heavy

Brakes

with the aftermarket sbs brakes stoppies are no problem and if your not carefull those calipers have enough power to flip it over in a endo

Handling

great but as we all know they get better every year shedding more weight now 1000 cc bikes way less then the 6R of yesterday.

great bike for the money and it will take the abuse of most riders.

Carberation

The engine performes awesome. This bike eats all 600cc it has came against and quite a few 750cc. I plan on boring the engine out to a 654cc in October. It's suppose to give it 20% more horsepower. Carburetors...no complaint.

Brakes

Braking is awesome with six pistons. Alot of difference than a standard four piston set up like the other 600's.

Handling

Handles better than my 2001 GSXR 600.

Rear Hugger & Carbon Tank Pad - New full race exhaust & Dynojet kit planned for summertime

Carberation

Power delivery is excellent, this is one superb motor.. it pulls from as little as 2000rpm. The torque delivery is very smooth and really pushes the bike into its powerband. Top end rush is ballistic... the acceleration is phenomenal, for a 600 this is where it really shines. I had a recorded 165mph at bruntingthorpe, and i think on a stiller day this machine will hit 170. The 636's carburation is spot on, not one glitch. even when the throttle is whacked open. the motor is well matched to its chassis. Kawasaki have made a corker :)

Brakes

Front brakes are very sharp (Those six potters can stop you faster than you can slam a toilet seat)No S**T. Rear brake is smooth and effective. overall, the brakes make you feel that you are in total control. they do not imbalance the bike at high or low speeds. yet again they are perfectly matched to the whole bike :)

Handling

This bike handles! I thought my Bandit was great. The way the bike holds its line just makes me smile. when navigating the most challenging corners you can almost hear it say, "Go on put your feet up and let me do the rest". Awesome.

Comments

I would recommend this bike to anyone. It is really comfy and very roomy, when i carry my mrs as pillion, she feels very comfortable and safe. If you are looking for full on performance, a bargain price (5,400 new -uk spec), maximum comfort, and something that really brings out the meaning of biking; then i think you should seriously consider buying this model. Even though the new ZX636(B) is showing to be a cracker just think of things that aren't on the new model, Things like superb rider comfort (the '03's pegs are a lot higher and bars are lower, tea plate for a pillion seat) Cheap price 7000 ( just for an extra couple of mph's & USD's etc )I am not dissing the newer model in any way, but bear in mind what you are **really** looking for in a bike when you come to buy one.

Mods

Considering I've only got 400 or so miles on it, the payments and insurance aren't affording much room for mods..plenty are to come though. First will probably be the PCIIIr w/ a K&N drop in filter, most likely followed by the new square core FMF Ti slip-on. Before the Can though, I really need to find someone already fitting rear sets for this thing, not that their not high enough already (and believe me, serious clearance), but it makes for unnerving stand-up wheelies. I'm 6' 2" already and standing on the rear wheel puts me about 3 or more feet over the cowling-a little tall for my taste, so just farther back to summarize. Maybe some stock older ones will bolt-on. A double-bubble, when available, will be fitted, and most definitely some frame sliders to keep this thing looking this perty.

Carberation

This thing is a F@#%*^G Rocket!! I'm coming off a '00 sil/red f4 w/a high c5 x-metal, jetted, K&Ned, 97.8 HP beaut, and this thing flat out smokes it!! roomers around the shop are 120 crank, and bout 105 Rr. Wheel (probly little high if you ask me) but damn! I just pinned it two days ago for the first time-got to love the break-in- and I couldn't keep the front wheel on the ground smoking first through third! WAY FAST! Power comes on a little earlier than the F4 did, coarse those extra 37 cc's help the initial launch, red line is a sky high 15.5. No blurbs, even off idle or especially roll on are existent. Good Fuel Delivery.

Brakes

Ohhh Baby! The radial front end mount is great, it'll get you out of trouble in a hurry! Not actually quite as impressive as I thought they would be, but great. The F4 had EBC Pro-Lite rotors W/ HH pads, so I'm not coming from a slouch, but the 636 does slow better. Probably the best part is how sick they look mated with the gold 41 mil. up side down poingers. Which are a little stiff but great handling I might add.

Handling

Handles great, definitely super aggressive and track inspired, I think my chin resides almost directly above the stem. Actually fairly comfortable, great cornering clearance (super high peg mounts)and awesome suspension, but very stiff, however, razor-sharp manueverability, the 355 dry weight probably has something to do with that, not to mention the rake angle. 120/65 up front is a quick turner!

Comments

Awesome bike, Great Power, not a stunt bike unless all you like are stoppies and sit down wheelies, which aren't too bad if you can shift ok--oh yea, tranny-awesome! Shifts like Butta! Good luck getting the positive neutral finder to do anything for you, though, Once its there it wont go anywhere, nut that initial pop is a bit of a neusance.

Mods

I dropped a tooth in the front sprocket, installed an ignition advancer, Yoshimura RS-3 slip-on can, and K&N air filter.

Carberation

This bike has better low end and mid range snap than most other 600's I've rode. Top end has also greatly improved with the few minor modifications that were made. A quick crack on the throttle in 1st at about 4 grand will make the front end jump up with ease. Mid-range snap is insane for a 600. 4th gear (pull gear) will indicate 140+ before hitting the rev limiter. I have not been suicidal enough to attempt top speed, but I can only assume that the remaining 2 gears would allow the speedometer to read 170+... likely a top end off mid 160's figuring in speedometer error.

Brakes

Kawasaki was the only Japanese 600 to use 3 piston front brakes instead of 2. This creates a much more sensitive, but crontrolled stop. Braking aggresively does not cause the bike to violently shimmy, and showing off by putting the rear tire in the air can be mastered with little practice.

Handling

The Kawasaki ZX6R is a very comfortable and stable bike. I have not ever ridden a more comfortable crotch rocket. No need to buy a steering dampner with this bike. A tank slapper is rare, even on the track, and reuniting the front tire with the pavement is easily controlled. Engine vibration is minimal, and the gear box is percise, with no slop.

Comments

This may not be the most agressive or desirable bike for the track, but if you're looking for something that will allow you to ride comfortablly all day, and has the power and excitement to put a grin on your face... this is your bike. Kawasaki may not be the leading (desired) name in the 600 class, but after riding all 4 Japanese bikes... I wouldn't puchase anything but the ZX6R... if you're looking for a 2000-2002 model.

Well lets just say this bike is bad sitting stock at 107-109 HP the only true "flat spot" would be at low R's. Higher R's it just keeps going. Starting to redline at 15 1/2 it is steadily gaing power throughout.

Since last review 11,000 miles ago, I now have a Micron slip-on installed, Dynojet kit, K&N hi-flo air filter also installed.

Carberation

Stock carburation on this bike was good, but it is even better now that I have a slip on and jet kit installed. Throttle wheelies are not a problem; the front end lifts off with little effort and holds until the rev limiter hits. I dynoed the bike after the jet kit was installed, and it was putting down 98 hp to the rear wheel. The kit has been tweeked now, and it is putting 104 hp to the rear now. Jet kit produces crisp, clean response of the throttle, with no delays or hiccups.

Brakes

Still on original brake pads, and they still stop the bike in a big way.

Handling

Recently spooned on a set of the new Pirelli Diablo's, and handling increased ten-fold over what it was when I was running crappy Dunlop 208's. The bike is much more stable with the Pirelli's, and holds lines better in the corners. Lean-in is crisp and quick, with no wallowing, and grip is excellent. Street riding is simple, but the bike really shines on track, where the tires and geometry of the bike really comes together.

the bike handles great. I went into a turn just yesterday, not too fast...but I went through leaning just fine, and the R6 behind me went into the ditch, hmmm...

Comments

Solid bike, I really like it and am just wondering why the front end doesn't come off the ground? I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

THIS BIKE PROBABLY HAS THE STRONGEST POWERBAND IN ITS YEAR AND CLASS. I'VE RIDDEN OTHER BIKES AND THIS BIKE HAS SOME MONSTER TORQUE. ENGINE NOISE IS A LITTLE NOTICEABLE THOUGH BUT ITS A BIKE. MY FRIEND HAS A 2001 CBR 929RR AND MY OTHER FRIEND HAS A 2002 GSXR 750 AND I CAN KEEP UP AND SOMETIMES BEAT THEM ON RACES. THEY WERE AMAZED WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THE POWER OF MY BIKE FOR ITS SIZE.

Brakes

REAL STRONG BREAKING ESPECIALLY THE FRONT. WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO RIDE, I ALMOST FLIPPED THE BIKE OVER.

Handling

HANDLING IS AWSOME COMPARED TO OTHER 6'S I'VE TRIED OUT. IT'S NOT AS FLINGY AS THE 2003 NINJA ZX6RR BUT IT IS LIGHT ENOUGH

Comments

I LOVE THIS BIKE. ITS MY FIRST AND I'LL KEEP IT AS LONG AS I CAN AFFORD IT. I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. ITS COMFORTABLE, STYLISH, AND STRONG. EVERYONE RIDE STRONG AND BE CAREFUL!!!!

Puig Double Bubble Screen, K&N ordered and a scorpian can is on the wish list from Santa.

Carberation

The bike is as capable as the rider, I had a blast in Scotland with some friends and during one of the not so sensible sessions I was able to hold my own against a ZX9 and a 2 up gixer thou in the bends. Of course on the straights a little power would have been nice as I had to work twice as hard to stay up on the wrong side of a ton 40.

Brakes

Brakes feel as though a little vague during prolonged braking, have been told that if I fit braided hoses that would sort it out. I haven't had any problems myself on it but leant it to a mate who said "animal but small amount of brake fade"

Handling

Great piece of kit. If you want a bike to boost your confidence, stay economical and still put a smile on your face after 18mths this is for you. On top of that I managed 1200 miles on a weekend without needing medical assistance.

Comments

Learn to ride a Zx6 fast and your untouchable, at least on irish roads (more bends than straights). With some sensible mod's there are few bikes out there capable of beating you. I am 6'3 and 190lbs ish and the bike suits me fine its comfy I have put 14500 km's on the clock in 18 months and can't wait till April to start all over again. Each time I go out the amount of people who say I made the right choice still makes me smile. And I never get tired of hearing "that thing goes hard in the bends!!!"

Mods

Recent mods include intake and exhaust racing cams and springs from Kawasaki racing, a Yoshimura RS- 3 full exhaust system, USBIII Power Commander, Dunlop D208GPs, Scotts steering dampener, Euro style undertail (super slick design), custom turn indicators for the front, rearsets from CompetitionWerkes, K&N air filter, chain replacement and decal trim. I have wave style brake disks waiting to go on. Overall tuning and custom fuel map increased the bike to 138hp from the stock 115hp. Major improvement over the stock bike, although mods cost an additional $6,500.00 to add on.

Carberation

Before mods the bike was responsive on the top end but failed to deliver in the lower rpms up to 5,000. This bike wants to be revved high and does not respond very well if you shift to early, let the bike scream in the higher gears and you will enjoy this bike, even in its stock configuration. However after the mods this bike is a well tooled monster, capable and proven to keep up with the stock to slightly modified liter bikes on the track. Just have to have the balls to let this bike go!

Brakes

I have done nothing with the brakes on this bike, stock brakes are amazing and the pads last a long timekudos to Kawasaki on picking a great vendor for their brakes.

Handling

Stock configuration off the showroom floor needs a little help, the suspension needs to be setup for the rider and the conditions otherwise the bike will feel heavy in the corners at low speeds. At high speeds a dampener is a must! The head shake on this bike with the Bridgestone tires can get ugly really quickly, also checking tire pressure is a must as this only worsens the effect. The overall balance of the bike is good, although is does rake forward quite a bit for taller riders and the distance between the gas tank and the seat cowling is about two inches to short, a problem they fixed in the 04 model. Cornering is superb and the stock rearsets allow for plenty of clearance but not much grip, this is the reason I switched them out. Bottom line if you tweak a stock bike to your body weight and height this is a fun bike to ride.

Comments

I would not suggest this bike to a new rider if only for the reason that even in its stock configuration this bike is mean and can and will bite you if you do not know how to ride. Yes it can be tame in the right hands of an experienced rider and can be a great commuting bike, other then that I give this bike my praise. I have heard some people do not like the digital speedo/tach but I have to disagree, it is clearly visible when you need it. I would question why a rider would even need to look at the speedo/tach while riding, gauging speed is easy enough and the sound of the rev limiter is unmistakable. The only reason I look down is to see if I am getting low on fuel.

Carberation

Since the sprocket conversion the power ban is better and enables me to lift the front up better in high speeds on the highway. the bike has better peaks and less flat spots due to going down one tooth,

Brakes

very strong, the dual front disc brakes make it easy to slow down really fast coming from high speeds to an almost stop.

Wouldn't recommend as a first bike unless you have decent self control. Mods

I use this bike for race purpose and tried various mods to improve engine performance but still within the national regulation for superbike class (above 600cc). My focus of mods are engine performance and handling. Now I have put BMC air filter, custom full race exhaust (different pipe sizes in 3 stages), ignition advanced (locally modified), ported intake, added PCIIIUSB with custom mapping,Scott's oil filter, readjust the front sproket -1 (15), and rear sproket +2 (45). As for handling dept I put on the GPR stabilizer, lowered the front end 1/5 inch, improved aerodynamics by adding extended flat cover under the head lamp - to keep the bike on the ground, use dunlop d208 gpa zr tyres, and EBC race brake pads plus itaco braided lines.

Carberation

When I use custom muffler, stock air filter with PCIIIUSB mapping, i had 117 hp (dynoed) at rear wheel (front and rear gear readjusted). Now after the above mods was done, I have 126.8 hp (dynoed)!!! The power delivery is much better at mid range and high rpm. and the sound....the best on the track!

Brakes

The stock pads is great on the track as well on the street. But at first when I replaced it to EBC race pads, the bike won't brake as It should until I removed the dust cover on the brake pad housing, the EBC worked much better.

Handling

I use Dunlop D208 gpa ZR - (hard compund) because it's a sponsor's tyre for Asian championship event. The tyre is not an easy tyre to handle, it works great on cornering but if you go fast on a straightline it create tremendous head shake on the front as well on rear tyre. The bike is very hard to handle. After long hours of carefull suspension set up (damping/compresion/ front / rear suspension / sag), lowering front end, and improved aerodynamics at the front end - Now I am in control (at that time i did not have my GPR stab yet).

Comments

Confidence on the track, even If I have to fight with 1 litre bike (bigger is not always better). Next project, shorter exhaust. I think undertail exhaust is just for the show, shorter exhaust may work better for my zx. I am thinking of making custom side short mufller, inspired by GSX1000 K5. Once it's done next month, I will dyno it see how it works.

Carberation

under 5,000 rpms the bike had some hesitation. the air filter helped out a lot. running 110 octane u dont notice a hesitation at all. it loves to be wine. i say the fun begins at 11,000.

Brakes

love the feel of them. althou they have gotten a bit notchy but the lever probably needs some lube. They Dont Play!

Handling

im still using the stock settings. it feels a litle heavy in slow turns. very good handling concdering street riders poor comments on the handling. it does take a little more muscle.

Comments

stock came with 113 at the tire. LOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. if ur hammering it in 1st and see the shift light come on, make sure your holding on. my bike about kicked me in the ass. felt like an extra 30hp out of nowere. the bike loves race fuel, dont fill up an empty tank with race fuel. having to get new piston rings doesn't sound nice. for those concerned about altatude. if u have the DFI system it will automaticlly adjust itself. nice litle altatude sensor power suggestion. a x-ring chain allows up to an extra 50% power delivery. hybrid ceramic bearings, street rider mag did a test. they bought a bike did several timed test from a stop. changed the wheel bearing(5 bearing) and after 13 sec reached was 10 mph faster. and they only replaced the wheele bearings. amagine the tranny and engine bearings. think of what that does for gas effiency, and power. bloodycyborge@aol.com have something like bikes or something in the subject. to much spam.

Just a rear hugger to prevent mud at the back

Carberation

Ofcourse not a literbikedelivery, but enough to get it going fast and nice if u want to...gear down and it goes on very very nice, but u can cruise around in topgear at 100km/t also. If u have passanger i think its a litle weak...got "stuck" at low rews to easy-but i havnt tryed the other 600's, but ZX6R has the best dynocurve. It still has carburetors, but that aint a bad thing! It uses less fuel, and goes smoother then the injected ones...! A litle bit unsteady at the choke-not a problem, just a habbit.

Brakes

Good feel and very strong-a stoopiebike endeed.

Handling

So light and easy that when i got it i used to much effort in the curves :)

D&D slip-on, Dropped one tooth in front sprocket

Carberation

Carburetion needs adjustment on my bike. With a slip-on and no jetting, it seems to run a little rough at lower RPM's, however when cranking on, power is smooth and very consistent. There is a 'supposed' flat spot at around 3-4 grand, but I don't really notice it. Power is real strong down low for a 600 and continues to 14,000.

Brakes

Brakes seem a little weak on mine, but I'm not sure if that is just because I probably need new brakes. Other bikes I have ridden seem to stop a little quicker, but new pads and some adjustment should bring me up to par.

Handling

The first thing I noticed on this bike was the way it handled. It is very easy to ride, especially in corners. It feels real tight and confident in sharp turns.

Comments

I love this bike. I don't think the press gives it the attention it deserves. When it first came out, this was the only bike they talked about, and now they don't even mention it. I think it is an awesome bike and still has class leading power. I have ridden many other 600's and this is my favorite. I am now a die hard Kawasaki fan.
