Stage 1 Jet, Vance and Hines Supersport Exhaust, modified rear fender, low profile blinkers, alarm
Stage 1 and exhaust make a big difference. Kind of flat at around 4000 rpm
Will stop on a dime, but kinda lacks on the front having only 1 disc.
A little soft on the front forks, but if you want a stiffer ride, by a more expensive bike.
Overall, a great bike for the beginner, and with a few mods, the experienced rider who enjoys tricking out a bike and exploiting something to its full potential.

the bike is ideal for newbies but if you've already driven a bigger bike you wouldn't ride the sv650

I leaned out the carbs., scorpion carbon fiber exuast(modded on), carbon fiber turn signals, fork spacers, performance air breather, i painted the bike matallic black with graphit painted rims, moved the license plate under the exhuast, cut the rear fender all the way off, advance ignition, otter spark plugs, neon lighting, and super white head lights! RUNS GREAT!
flat spots around 3,000-5,000 rpms! but other then that you get pure power the rest of the way! will do wheelies! :)
The brakes handle great for only having 1 disc, the bike will do stoppies (just go around 20mph, hit the front brakes fast till it bottoms out then hit them and hold them till your back tire goes up!)
the front end gets alittle shaky in some turns, shocks abit to soft!
The bike is great and mine looks great with the paint job me and my friend carl did!
None. Just using to learn to ride.
Very weak before 5000 rpm. Will start to fly at about 8000 rpm but only has 11000 redline. Have to switch gears every 30km or so when riding at normal speeds. Still powerful enough to keep up with my friend's 7r in curvy roads.
Very strong brakes.
Very light front forks. Feels like a bicycle. If you're a strong guy, the suspension is too weak. When you run over stupid squirrels, front shakes a bit :)
Strenghts: For a beginner or a commutter, this bike rocks. Excellent gas mileage and turns on a dime. Naked look is impressive, bike looks a lot more expensive than you actually pay for it. Weakness: Rear tire is only 120 I believe. Most sportbikes have rear tires at 180 or 190. Chasis rusts easily when you ride in rain frequently (I'm in Vancouver, it rains!!)
VANCE AND HINEES EXAUST, K&N AIR FILTER, DYNO JET KIT, BLACK HANDLE BARS, AND WIND SCREEN
4000 RPMS
GOOD. STOPS ON A DIME! WITH ONE RIDER
AWSOME! GRAEAT BIKE TO LEARN ON
LOTS OF FUN!

any flat spots etc.great after 5000 rpms good turning
great breaking can stop on a dime it will pull a stoppie
ok for handling
good starter bike but u will want more powerafter riding for a while

Braided brake hoses Heavier oil in front shocks flat bars Bikini sports fairing K&N, rejetting and carby tune, new stanard exhaust Higher gearing
Flats spots until 5000 then a little till 7000. Above that it flys. Will slide back tire turning in the dry or lift the front wheel. I think it'll b good 4 about 200km\h. I've also got full synth 5w-40 oil which helps heaps.
Braided hoses, lowered front bars, shock oil and good tyres mean it brakes freaking great. Have lifted the back wheel baking at 90km/h
Aforementioned mods and raised preload means it handles great. Scrapes the pegs\ stand no worries. only complaint is hard cornering above 100km\h and her head starts to sway a bit.
For the costs and what she is they're a great bike. Very reliable too even if you thrash them (tho not neglect!)
No modifications bog standard from dealer
Excellent power for a small engine.
Great brakes duel discs on UK models!
Superb very light bike you can throw it around.
I use mine for commuting and it is ideal for that. This bike compares with the CB 500 but I prefer the GS.

After 6000 RPM she relly flies, but below 3000 RPM she's not really powerful, you just have to quikly change gear the first 3 gears.
Very good, although my front brake-disc is up for replacement (It's a common thing I've heard).
Very good, good bike for me as a beginner (I'm a sportbike-fanatic, but my GS is a good first step) Very nice bike to ride on a road with lots and lots of nice turns. LOVE IT!
Good and cheap bike, with good handles and a really low fuel-consumption 1:25 to 1:30!
no tiene ninguna modificacion es totol mente original
es un maquinon aunque tiene algunas desventaja que por ser un pistero deveria traer un carenado pero lo demas es muy bueno el consumo en ruta es exelente solo tenes que subirte y te lleva a donde sea
removed airbox and runnin K&N open flow filter, yoshimira exaust, progressive front springs with 20w oil, stage 3 jet kit, full fairing set, gsx-r rear shock, 150/60/17 rear tire, little bits and pieces removed for weight reduction.
extreamly smooth acceleration, power band between 7 and 10 rpm
stock brakes. would like to see a stonger braking system. stop well but could be MUCH better
turns on a dime. I cant bead out the tier due to teh foot pegs scraping after I put the rear tire on it. great handling
would like to see more power out of the bike and more braking ability. I am currently in teh market for a big bore kit and some head work. I think that i will be done after I have done that. I have been really impressed with the bike in general. it is very solid and has not let me down yet. I would recomend this to anyone

Power is good for a new rider. Forgives my many newbie mistakes. Make sure to let the bike warm-up in the morning. I will be getting a new pipe and jetting after 1000 mile.
Strong front brake, back feels kind of weak. (I don't have a lot to compare it too).
For an new rider like me the handling is great. I love the upright position, helps build confidence.
I did a lot of research before buying this bike. Came down to the Kaw 500ex and Suz 500F. Kaw was better on paper in performance, but I sat on booth bikes and the Suzuki felt better. (They don't allow test rides) Plan to ride this bike for a year and move up to the SV650s.
Dosn't have a lot of power but it uses what it has effectively. Very few low spots (other than the usual flat spot before 6 grand or so).
I don't think it's got the breaking power to pull a stoppie (I've tried) but it's got enough stop you quickly. It's only got one disc in the front so it might be beneficial to throw another one on.
Handles beautifully through the canyons (you might want to throw on some bigger tyres if possible). You might want to throw some progressive springs in the front as the forks are soft. Rear shock isin't the best but then again it dosn't really need to be on this bike.
This bike is basically stock, all we've got on it is some pod filters and a stage 3 jet kit. I would recommend this bike to a begginer any day, it's got a lot of pep and it dosn't mind being abused. If you are a experienced rider you will get bored with it fast though. We've yet to break 100mph on it but we're close. You can pick one up fairly cheap, my friend got his for 2800 dollars in perfect condition. I ride an fzr 600 and compared to the yamaha the suzuki falls a bit short, although it is more comfortable and probably more econimical. Conclusion: Great all around bike that can keep up with an Fzr 600 in the twisties (unless I feel like toasting it). Great begginer bike.
