Mods

carbon cans

Carberation

fuel injected, smooth acceleration from bottom to top

Brakes

i've felt more powerful front brakes but they still do the job in a hurry and with a big Vtwin like that who needs a rear brake, lots of fun to drop a gear and lock the tire up

Handling

i've also ridden one of the standard sv's from the last generation and this is a vast improvement also way easier to ride than a TL smooth V power makes the bike a snap to hammer not as nimble as some smaller fours but watcha gonna do

Comments

overall the most fun bike i have ever ridden there may be faster bikes but not many with that kind of tourque from the getgo and you cant beat that sound real uncomfortable though seat's a little hard and narrow and the riding position is a little aggro for somthing this side of a gixxer(but some of you guys like that) wanna try a standard before i buy one gotta try not to get so lost on back roads next time(grin)

Carberation

A lot of engine vibes from 3k to 4k when given lots of throttle (smooth at full throttle before and after) it calmed down a lot after 5k miles.

Brakes

good breaks awesome engine breaking, i hardly use brakes in traffic.

Handling

suspension too soft, got the numbers from one of the magazines, works great now. feels very stable over rough roads.

Comments

doesn't feel that fast because the acceleration is so smooth. Less power than 4-cyl, but 110 HP is not that bad, and that great V-twin sound. So easy to maintain because of no plastic.

Mods

double bubble wind screen, full Yosh system power commander and power sift aswell as custom paint

Carberation

the sv has a low end power band with aton of torque but it makes riding wheelie a small pain with the snap of the low end power and the shifting to 2nd gear plus the bike needs more top end

Brakes

the brakes are sound but nothing compared to the gsxr my suggestion is to replace the front breaks with an after market part if you are thinking of buying a bike like this

Handling

This bike is idle for any set of twisties that you can find there is no effert when having to coner and when leaving corners the powerful v-twin will staighten you up with progressive throttle response.

Comments

This is a bike that needs more attanition from the factory as far a not coming with the lower fair it changes the look of the bike and gives it more of the street look that it deserves. I would also suggest to the putting in a ram air system to keep the bike runing cooler in town much like the tl1000 and the tl1000r they can feel very warm at stop lights and in town riding.

Mods

Two Brothers Exhaust, Power Commander, Intagrated Taillight /turnsignals, hi-definition headlight bulbs, removal of plastic under cowl and top dash cover on fairing, and lots of chrome!!!

Carberation

No Flat Spots, and tones of torque. Doesn't have that sudden power boost like my gixxer had at 8000rpm, just a nice smooth power band from about 2K up.

Brakes

Not quite as powerful as that on the gixxer 600 but still strong enough and plenty of power in the engine to slow you down with a simple down shift. Mostly use breaks just for the final stop from about 3 miles/hour.

Handling

Excellent handling bike, handles the tight corner almost as well as the 600 sport bikes. Just takes a while to get use to the fact the bike is a little taller than the 600 sports.

Comments

Excellent ride, love it! And for all those who don't like the seat, I fiind it better than that of the Gixxer. I'm 5'10" 150lbs and found the gixxer just too wide, cramped up after couple hours in the saddle while the SV doesn't cause that discomfort!
