I've ridden about 500 miles with this front tire on the Honda. The lateral tread handles the nearly continually damp Seattle streets without any skips or slides. The tread pattern has a center groove but _completely_ ignores rain grooves, pavement irregularities or cement seams.
Grip is excellent. I've made several full-on emergency stops with this tire, and the tire has more stop in it than my 20-year old front rotors can dish out.
The ME33 is extremely stable, and handles sporting lean angles very well. It's not exactly a GP tire, but I've leaned the CX over to quite serious angles in moderately bumpy curves without any complaints from the rubber.
The ME33 steers rather quickly for a 19 inch wheel, yet doesn't seem to fall prey to turn-in or standing up while braking in a curve. A Very well- behaved tire.
I ME33 purchased the ME33 because my old tires were getting hard and I wanted to get high mileage on the new ones. (I commute 24 miles each way.) I didn't expect to get a tire that will let me run the twenty-year old CX with the half-liter sport-twins.
Dry roads.
Fantastic grip. Equals some race compunds.
Extremely stable and neutral.Better than the Mez 3 race tires. Way better the pilot race or sports.
Excellent overall handling. Very neutral and responsive. Tolerates front braking in a turn.Makes you love your bike.
These are the best sport tires I have ever ridden on.
1. Type of surface tested on? asphalt 2. Temp? 43 degrees 3. Weather Conditions? overcast, winds at 12mph
The grip was awesome I was surprise how good they stuck to the road in 40 degree weather and at that i was draggin knee. I really can't wait till it warms back up then it really going to get interesting.
The stability was there especially at full lean angle but on the freeway the ride was a little bumpy but with these tires my bike won't be seeing much of the freeway, mostly the track and backroads.
The tire was really quick to lean in and react to changes compared to Dunlop's D207ZR I ran previously. It also held the line very well and another thing is the tire will warn you when its at it limit.
Best tire my bike has seen yet would'nt choose nothing else. The tire heats up really quick, had a hard time keeping the front down on the ground because the rear was hooking up so hard.
Type of surface tested on. Temp. Weather Conditions i have used these tires on dry cold to warm roads. i haven't hit the hot tracks yet. cant wait til summer!
the grip was outstanding. they gave me a confidence that was unmarked. i hit some roads really hard after getting them scuffed in real good. never broke on me at all. i am usually really hard on tires.
Stability etc. stablitity was excellent during all types of riding.
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes. these tires turn in QUICK. it made my bike handle totally different than the 207ZR's that i have ridden since they came out. it took a lot less effort to corner. by being sticky, i have found that i brake later and plow into a corner and lean the hell out of the bike with no fear. the rear tire was excellent as well. even when hard throttling out of a corner, they kept traction great. i am not big on power slides so i dont do them. but when i came out of the corner and hit it, the front end came up easier that i remember.
the best tires that i have ever rode on. i have been riding for a little less than 10 years and i have found a new tire. i had originally only ridden dunlops. well i am a BIG metler fan now!!!!!
Type of surface tested on. Temp. Weather Conditions street,65, part cloud.
Fan f'n tastic. more grip than you'll ever need on the street. you'd have to be a totall jackass to loose it on these things.
Stability etc. great again. slid mine across a manhole cover&could feel the rings as the tire slid across then hooked right back up. you can feel bumps&pavemant changes etc. but they don't upset your line at all.
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes. very fast turn in,flop over, direction change, line change etc. superstable, predictable, FUN!
i rode avon's first, sucked hard. 207's after that and i fell in love. now these matzlers that are WAY better than those. i'll never need to try tires again. i go out on twisty roads with bikes that make 2-3 times as much power as mine and smoke them with superior corner speed. you need cofidance in your tires to go fast on the street. the new metzlers deliver that in spades.
Highway 9 in Saratoga, CA to Santa Cruz. Temp mid-70's, dry. Chased down a smartass in a Porsche on my Honda 919 until he pulled over and let me pass. He had good cornering, I watched him sliding around corners, but in straights I had him for breakfast. The Z6's last a long time and handle great! ( Get the Z6-B for sport touring machines like ST1300)
Stability etc.
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes.
