Type of surface tested on. Temp. Weather Conditions British roads! 54 degs
Great! very confidance inspiring once up to temp (doesn't take long) more grip there than you'd ever think!!!!
Loads of feed back,all you need!
Bang it on her side hard as you like no probs!
Used the RS2 compound which is fine on the front but too soft on the rear and only lasts 1000 mls if anything they are softer and grippier than you need for the road!
Type of surface tested on: Tracks Temp: Hot Weather Conditions: Sunny
I've done several track days using the RS1 front and RS2 rear combination, and still have not found their grip limits. On a hot day with the throttle pinned, 120+mph at full lean, and accelerating hard out of turns 2 and 3 at Willow Springs big track, they never let go. There was one second where the rear began to slide out, but that was because I had just crested the top of a hill leading to a right hand turn hard on the gas. It slid out slowly and recovered quicky and easily, as you would expect a predictable tire to do. like the magazines say, the bike and rider are the limiting factores, not the tires.
High speed stability is perfect, and the ride feels soft compared to Dunlop 208GP's. The tires absorb quite a lot of the road feel, but still manage to communicate clearly what the bike is doing.
Easier to flick left and right that Dunlop 208GP's or 207RR's. Lean in is as fast or slow as the rider wants it to be. The tires do not "fall" into the corners.
I used to be an enthusiastic fan of dunlop 208GP's. But in all honesty, they just do not have the grip of the RS series of Rennsport. Track score: 9/10. The only thing preventing a full 10/10 is that they wear quickly. But then any track tire will.
Dry Track day and canyons 70-90 degrees farenheit
excellent A++
very stable ... great for track
Slower turn in than I like didnt feel that great on the street.
Used RS1 front and RS3 Back
