veried race track Conditions.dry weather only. very, very, very, bad in tthe rain.i'm not sure if i used very enough. they are bad in the wet.
only margainal grip and takes a few more laps to scuff them.they dont come in as fast as dunlops anda little slick once they get warm.they are not the tire to run all the way down to the wear bars either.helps to run them alittle low on air also.3or4 lbs.less
fairly good Stability but it is short lived.you can feel the front push goin into a corner and the back spin comin out.
pretty adverage handling.you notice a little slide at full lean and they react about the same in direction changes.
did i mention they where realy bad in the rain.you can't get any lean in the rain due to the lack of tread on the edges.even in a straight line...........No Grip!!
Type of surface tested on. Temp. Weather Conditions These tires are used only in the heat of summer for fast street riding and trackdays. DO NOT use these tires at 70 deg. F or less, unless high-siding is a hobby of yours. Never rode in wet.
Unbelievable grip when hot. Glue-like. Really. Can be rather scary when cold, and I always warm up bike, tires, and myself before hammering on it. They really do like to push the front if not up to temp. At that point, I don't try the rear.
Stability etc. These tires provide excellent feel and liveliness without being flirty or nasty. They are perfect on this bike. No steering dampener.
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes. They have transformed my Kwak from a slow, steady bike (D207s) to a fast, yet steady, flick-flick machine. I love them.
Okay, I am a Micheline man at heart (like Bibendum) but I really do think that these are great tires. Just don't try them on a "shakey" bike without a dampener. I'd like to try the new Metzler Rennsports next.
Normal day, 20 degrees, wet track, with dry driving spot
Hi Sport Michelins are the best tyres on the track, togehther with the Dunlop GP's. They only have one weakness, just like the Pilot Race tyres, that they need to be warmed up!!! If you don't accept these rules, you will probably crash, as they give little grip at low temperature. As temperature increases, the tyre is quickly gaining grip.....to its very high limit! (which only racedrivers will find). On the street they won't reach the right temperatures, so don't use 'm
Stability etc. Perfect stability, allows you to brake during the corner at high speeds. Use less than 2.0 BAR pressure at front tyre (1,9) and a little more at the rear (2,1).
Overall handling is great; braking is superb. With Carbone Lorraine brake pads it's easily controlled braking (rear wheel above ground for several seconds)
ONLY use these tyres at the track
Type of surface tested on. Temp. Weather april/ may not too warm Conditions: dry.
When warm i feel they offer excellent grip, enough too feel the g's! Only one problem they offer less feesback than fellow tire manufacturers, the tire doesn't let you know when its gonna slide.
Its a race tire, not really suitable for the road unless a damper is fitted, can get quite frisky!
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes. Turn in is good, no weird feeling when going into a corner, can sometimes have a bit of oversteer, but thats also the way my bike is set up.
i'll be trying the new race 2 version asap.
Type of surface tested on.dry ,sunny, exelent bike weather Temp.40-80 deegres. Weather Conditions, sunny.
the worst tire ever, absolutely the most bullshit tire tested on a road .a long warm-up period, and then medium grip and absolutely no slide-warning before a big highside...... the dealer said it was exelent for roaduse????........bullshit......!!! I have highsided my lovely gsxr 1000 twice!!!!! it will be teared off before the spring,I promise you....... use only on race/track ...
Stability etc.medium, feels a little stiff and unpredict....
Quick or slow to lean in or react to changes. nothing spechial. medium...
road use ==== no-no......never
Cold, NHIS... freakin lazer beams! Summer Bridgehampton.... Superfast track (fastest in the Eastcoast!)
Great for the novice, when I started, I started on Michelins.
Novice... novice racer... They HAVE NO FEEL. I CAN NOT LEAN THE BIKE OVER!!!! Just kidding. Being it was 10 years ago, I can not really remember. So .. no feel. Actually my brain was trying to come to grips that I needed to go FASTER to catch the experts, so I really didn't feel anything on the tire. Perhaps too much. Side wall grip was good on the front. It was pushed alot, but not slid. The reat always took a beating. I DID highside in the rain at Bridgehampton on the 600. It was much fun... Rear grip was lacking as it was on a 4.0-4.5 rim so I had to "deal" with it highsiding. Very hard when you are a 19-year-old novice....
Do NOT change much on the tire selection unless you KNOW what you are doing. I changed to a TOO BIG front and it slowed down the steering alot.
If I get another set of Bibs, I will do a proper test on a track enviroment. Please do not race on the street, unless you are properly ready to deal with the results...
